The September 2026 Cab Post

Losing my stuff, some sandwich news and spectral stickers

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Over here, the leaves are starting to change color, there are fewer tourists on Mount Royal, and it's that time of year when I want to spend as much time outside as possible. While trying to enjoy the sun one afternoon, I took a Bixi downtown and stupidly lost my wallet on the Maisonneuve bike path, in front of Concordia university. My fatal flaw is forgetting to zip or close my bags and purses, if you must know. It all happened in less than 30 seconds, and by the time I realized I was missing key pieces of my inventory, someone had already picked up my wallet. After the initial shock had passed, I begrudgingly accepted that I would have to redo all my IDs and change my bank cards. But wait! Plot twist! A kind soul found my wallet and took it back to the local police station. Turns out there's still hope left in this world!

Recap’

I want to thank everyone who dropped by the Pupilles book launch. A huge thank you to all the staff at Joie de Livres, who welcomed us like stars. Apparently, the actors from Heated Rivalry sat in the same armchair as we did when they visited the bookstore this year. No joke! It was a fantastic evening and a well-deserved party after almost two years of hard work. If you couldn't make it, that's perfectly fine! The book is available in all bookstores and on the website leslibraires.ca.

Here's an illustration I made to spend some of the creative energy that was bursting out of my brain before the launch party.

I FINALLY finished writing and storyboarding my next book, L'heure du lunch earlier this month. I've been working on it since 2024, can you believe it? Writing a script the "traditional" way doesn't come naturally to me; I need to write AND draw at the same time, otherwise I can't picture the jokes. So, in between writing, doing research for the book, AND inking Pupilles (and all the other projects), I'm more than relieved that the layout is finished. A few people have read it and told me that 1. it was funny, 2. it made me hungry. Mission accomplished! As with all my projects, I'll be sharing panels, pages, and other visuals on Patreon. I can't wait to start production! In the meantime, here's a little preview of the comic. It is very silly.

For no reason other than I felt the need to draw something other than sandwiches, heres's a little sketch of Edwin that I really like.

Announcements

It's Halloween month!! OoOooooOO! To celebrate, I've decided to expand my series of music-loving ghost vinyl stickers and make it a three-pack. Since the first two were super popular at events, I gave them a skateboarding buddy. The three-sticker set is available individually or as a big haunted bundle with three cute ghostly prints.

That’s all for September! May the nights be cool and that extra blanket on your bed, extra comfy. See you November!

Cool stuff

It might be a huge stereotype but screw it: reading at fall, when the days are getting shorter, feels pretty dang good and okay. Since I have a website I can put literally anything on, I made a reading list going back to 2023, for my own personal archives. If you recognize anything or have any suggestions, I'm always open to comments!

We're a Gemini household so duality is our motto. This month, we've been playing Super Mario World for the SNES AND I got to try the complete mind melting device that is the Steam Frame (Steam's long-awaited VR set). 40 years of games in one living room.

What is the link between ugly luxury cars, Cyberpunk 2077, cultural flattening, and our ability to imagine a better future? This essay on Design Theory will answer this question thoroughly. Warning: it might inspire you to get off your ass and create something original.

Thomas Schole: He manages to compress colours and textures to an almost molecular level. It's always impressive to see a concept artist at the top of their game.

We need daily disobedience, not as an aesthetic, but as embodied training.

Jamila Bradley. Why you need a daily disobedience practice.

I, too lost my wallet a few months ago! I got to work on getting all of my shit replaced, but someone found it and left it at my back door. In the end, I decided to keep it in my workspace to remind me of the good in the world.
