The October 2026 Cab Post
Finishing Zelda, inking dilemmas and signing for days

Hey everyone, how's it going? Big news: I finished Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Yes, it took six years. I beat Ganon by finishing him off with a perfectly-timed beam deflection, a monumental feat considering I still have to look down at the Switch’s buttons when I play a game. Even on a 5-inch screen, the end of Link's adventure was epic and magnificent. WHAT A GAME. I don't think I'll be playing Tears of the Kingdom anytime soon, but if I ever do, I'll try to beat it in less time than it takes to complete two graphic novel projects.
Recap’
The moment I've been waiting for has arrived: I've started inking L’heure du Lunch. Inking is my favorite step; it's when things really come together visually and the comic starts to take its final shape. Plus, I can do it while watching Radio-Canada police dramas, a guilty pleasure of mine. I've already shared the first two inked pages for free on Patreon and talked about my inking dilemmas. If you want to follow the project's progress, that's where you should go!

RIP the old derelict Canada Malting plant, our most beautiful urban ruin. You were a photographer’s delight and an urban explorer death trap.

Announcements
The big book fair season is still going strong! I'll be at the Montreal Book Fair from November 25th to 29th at the Palais des Congrès. I have ELEVEN signing sessions, which might be a personal record for a single event. I'm mainly signing at Front Froid for Pupilles and at Druide for Courage William, Courage! La Collection Noire, La Courte Échelle’s horror novel series, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and I'll be signing with a bunch of other authors and illustrators at their booth on Thursday. My schedule will be updated as new time slots are added!
New autumn print in my shop! This is the cover of issue 24 of Planches, published last year and slightly edited. I really love it and I'm happy to finally be able to release it in print.

Cool stuff
The site Reelizer lists film posters of all styles and periods. A goldmine of inspiration and beauty.
Melissa Auf Der Maur recounts how she became bassist for Hole at the age of 22, following an incident involving a beer bottle thrown at Billy Corgan at Foufounes Électriques in 1994. Her memoirs, titled Even The Good Girls Cry, are a journey into the heart of 90s alternative music, from the perspective of a romantic Montrealer with bohemian leanings. It was made for me.
A must-read: The Day all billionaires died.
I'm listening to:
Cranekiss de Tamaryn: pop-80's-shoegaze-Cocteau Twins, etc.
Amaro by Bibi Club's indie-electro is darker than their previous material. Really good.
We fly into windows from Shedfromthebody, the dark Finnish artist’s third doomy-gloomy album.
My new In Rainbows vinyl from Radiohead, because now I CAN DO THAT (give my money to record stores)
And, uh, a lot of Talking Heads?!
Cool artist:
Illustrator Bruce Mackay is a big fan of Lord of the Rings and the aesthetics of death metal. He's even created a personal project about it on his website. Bad Manifesto.
Overestimate the value of kindness.

"Chps" is the best onomatopoeia I've come across in a while.
