The December 2025 Cab Post
Slop stickers, stacks of index cards and a year of art.

Hello everyone, I hope you had a great holiday season! As usual, the December recap will be as short as the days, so here we go!
Recap’
It's been ages since I've had just… nothing to do during the holidays. No contracts to hand in when I got back in January, no deadlines, nothing. Just a little maintenance, some archiving, writing a 2,000-word recap of 2025, cleaning my office, etc. While clearing my projects whiteboard, I realized that I’ve worked on a lot of things this year. I inked close to a hundred Pupilles pages, drew four comissionned facades, two novel covers, a kid’s book, made some merch and released an artbook. Oh, and I moved too. It takes away the guilt of playing Animal Crossing like it’s the beginning of the pandemic again.

Inspired by the protest we held at the Salon du Livre and the creation of the Regroupement pour l'art humain, I made an AI slop-themed sticker sheet. After a year of obsessive reading about AI, I needed to find a creative outlet for my outrage; some people make beautiful, expressive paintings, I make dumb stickers. I was well into the process when I learned that the Merriam-Webster dictionary's word of the year was "slop." I guess I was onto something!

A year of art! Pupilles kept me the busiest this year, with close to a 100 pages inked. There are still a few projects under embargo that I can’t show but everything should come out somewhere next year!

The year is over, everyone! Thank you again for reading, month after month, for almost six years now, across various platforms and in two languages. I wish you all a gentle start to 2026, a little respite from the news, the hot takes, and all the other noisy garbage we’re bombarded with. Go read a good book, listen to something that makes you feel good, and I'll see you again in February <3
This newsletter is and will ALWAYS be free. If you like what I do, I suggest visiting my online shop or hunting down my books at your favorite bookstore or library. The webcomic Utown is still online and completed and free—visit the website! I also share my illustrations, tips and tooks, writings and reflexions on Patreon, using a monthly “pay what you want” method. Maintaining my little corner of the internet is a lot of work; any support or purchase is appreciated!
Cool stuff
- I re-watched Blade Runner 2049 and it still freakin’ rules.
- Here are my best songs of 2025!
- To my utmost delight, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are working together again. The longevity of Gorillaz is truly mesmerizing.
- Cool artist: Tsuchika Nishimura, whose style LOOKS deceivingly simple. It’s not.
Wisdom of the month:
“We often discover or even rediscover ourselves in what we keep around us.”
-Kyle Chayka, Filterworld.
