The elders have decided to cancel our morning church service

Because of the very strong possibility that we will see over a foot of snow which will last all Sunday, we feel that it is wise to cancel our gathered service.

We would encourage you all to use the day to relax, warm in your homes, reflecting on the rest we have in Christ.

It would also be a good time to practice family worship together, especially if you have not yet gotten into that practice. Although there are many good resources, I would like to recommend one article, Family Worship 101, published by Ligonier.

There are also many good reformed churches which live-stream their services. If you decide to take this route, be sure you enter into the worship yourself. Just watching others worship as a spectator is always a temptation when streaming a worship service. I would recommend treating the service as though you were there with them: singing when they sing, standing when they stand, and praying when they pray.

Since the storm is hitting over 30 states, it may be difficult to find one that is still having a morning service tomorrow. So I will recommend one that I know is outside the reach of the storm: Covenant Reformed Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce, Florida, of which my son, David, is pastor.
