A Busy April Ahead, and a Book Giveaway!

This month is going to be busy even by my standards: I have no fewer than five articles and comics scripts due — along with all the interviewing and researching required to write them — and I’m moving to a new house. The move isn’t for good reasons (my current landlord necessitated it through unethical behavior) and the high workload is largely to pay for the move. So, busy April for me.
However! I have two books to give away!
When the Earth Was Green by my friend and colleague Riley Black: a nonfiction science book about the evolution of plants and the relationships between plants and other organisms from billions of years ago to today. For those who read Riley's earlier book The Last Days of the Dinosaurs, this book is similar in structure: telling the story of these organisms in an engaging narrative style, sometimes even from the point of view of various animals to set the scene.
Absolution by Jeff VanderMeer: the fourth novel in his famous "Southern Reach" trilogy (to steal a joke from Douglas Adams). An ecological and psychological horror story, Absolution takes place before the events of Annihilation and Acceptance, filling in some gaps but leaving the reader messed up in the VanderMeer style we know and love (at least if you're like me and enjoy being messed up by books).
Here are the very basic guidelines for the giveaway: go to the form, fill in your email, and select which book(s) you'd like a chance to win. I will put your email into a randomizer and contact you if you win. The limit is one book per winner, and I only have one copy of each to give away, but it's not a raffle: no cost to enter, and I'll even pay shipping (unless you really wanna pay me back, which is fine). Both books are really good — these are extra copies I acquired and am happy to share. I will send the winners their emails on April 11 (ten days from the start of the contest).
