Links That Burn Has Launched!
Hello Readers! Thank you so much for accepting the sudden lack of podcast episodes, newsletters, etc., as I poured a truly ridiculous amount of my time into building a spreadsheet which lets me generate and maintain the website listings for my new site, Links That Burn. The support of my Patrons and Ko-Fi donors also has enabled me to pay a translator to make the site available in German!
Why German? I have an online friend who studies translation, and whose first language is German, and she was available to work on the site. Translation is a skill above and beyond just knowing both languages, and she did a thoughtful and excellent job.
Now that the hard work of building the spreadsheet is mostly done (there are some minor changes I want to make, but nothing as time-intensive as actually developing it has been), I will resume essays, and book reviews, and all other things you normally look for as my endeavors.
Yes, you did read that correctly, I am using a spreadsheet to generate and concatenate the HTML code for the site. It lets me add lines to one tab of the spreadsheet and then click one button, and from that I generate all the listings for useful, fun, and/or informative websites which are the backbone of Links That Burn.
Thank you so much for your support! I've been reading books throughout this sudden hiatus and intend to resume releasing first reviews, and then podcast episodes as soon as I can.
