Just got back from the Santa Barbara Sea Glass - I volunteered to help out at the festival and they put me to work putting on wristbands at the cash only ticket booth. It was so crazy full of people that when I took a quick break I was unable to get close enough to see what the vendors were offering. Oh well - I was there to beachcomb anyway which I did a couple of days before in Cayucos. I was not having any luck until we met an older gentleman and his dog, Buddy. As we were chatting, Buddy, all wet and sandy proceeded to lean up against me and that’s when Buddy’s human saw my first piece of sea glass which he promptly handed to me. Then I saw my 2nd piece next to his feet. I found 5 pieces of sea glass, some truly amazing rocks and was most happy to make Buddy’s acquaintance! Sometimes it is not what you find but the dog that you meet.
