Book & Paper Arts Calendar Updates - October 25, 2018
Hello everyone,
I thought I was going to write more about Hedi Kyle, post-it notes, Crazy Rich Asians and getting calendars. I decided to scrap that when I realized how close we are getting to the holidays and the end of the year. I hope that instead of going crazy this year about the holidays give yourself permission to let it not be perfect. Learn how to say "No!" Love your imperfect self! In fact I encourage you to start a different tradition. Write a letter to each of your loved ones and tell them what they mean to you instead of looking for that perfect present. Make memories! How about going away for the holidays to get a different perspective on it? Celebrate it the way people do in other countries. Let someone else do the cooking by going to a restaurant or cooking something non-traditional. Shake it up a little this year! Wouldn't it be great to say, "I did a hedgehog head count in the UK and they are not as prickly as I thought they were! It must have been me!!" This time of year seems to bring out the rush in us. Please remember to slow down, take a breathe and pull back your shoulders. In fact if you are reading this go ahead, pull back your shoulders, take a deep breathe and let it out slowly. Give yourself a few minutes to enjoy this "me" time. It is OK that you not do everything, perfectly OK to delegate even if things don't turn out the way you expect. Take a deep breathe and know that things will still be OK, things will be fine.
