Book & Paper Arts Calendar Updates - October 11, 2017
Hello everyone,
Registration for Rachel Hazell’s e-course, BookLove, is now open. Please see calendar entry for November 13 or do a search.
There is this amazing artist, Matthew Shlian, out there - I thought of him as a paper engineer but he is much more than that and I like how he approaches his art (see July 9 calendar entry). Have a listen: https://tinyurl.com/ydbh5gc5
If you were thinking about going to Iceland next summer (see June 18 2018 entry) you could fly there on WOW - there are flights from all over the country including Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Book Art Family Tree Questionnaire: The College Book Art Association seeks to create a family tree in order to document and preserve the history of the evolution of the field of book art. We invite you to share this survey with others who may not have received it directly. All responses will be recorded and tabulated. You do not have to be a member of CBAA to participate. This is the first phase of the project. Additional questions or responses may be requested as we proceed. Please complete your responses by November 15, 2017. The questionnaire will close on this day. To complete the survey, please go to: https://goo.gl/forms/x8NbV42mc9jw5ETm2
Have you heard of Craft Industry Alliance? It is a great place to connect with other craft professionals, learn more about the industry and strengthen your business. Ann Martin from All Things Paper found her membership in this organization to be truly valuable. The CIA - 1300 members strong and growing - is celebrating its second anniversary. Its founders, Abby Glassenberg and Kristin Link recently hosted a special episode of the While She Naps podcast (which is always interesting) about CIA benefits. Four members and Ann were invited to talk about what they do and what they find useful about the organization. Have a listen. Her portion begins at the 33 minute mark.
