Book & Paper Arts Calendar Updates - May 17, 2017
Greetings, fellow book and paper lovers!
I just got word from one of the instructors for a class I was hoping to attend in Los Angeles at Occidental College (just around the corner from GCC Garfield campus), Storage Book (see June 3 - 4), that enrollment in that class was also low and that it may be cancelled. I am trying to drum up more attendees so that this class happens but I do understand that people get busy. You have to send in the payment to Barbara Wood (per instructions on the website). The registration deadline is this Saturday, May 20, but you could write to her (welkewood@yahoo.com) to let her know the check is in the mail. The pricing is actually pretty reasonable for a 2-day class. If you are interested the link is below. What a great way to store your small precious items!

Get your welding/eclipse glasses or pinhole shoeboxes out - the total eclipse of the sun will be happening on Aug 21 but only if you are standing right below it. Los Angeles will have a partial eclipse. Please see below for more information.
I have always been intimidated by letterpress but I think I may take a weekly introductory class from OTIS (see below) after attending the Open House on May 21. The Armory in Pasadena is also offering weekly classes but they would end too close to the eclipse for me since we are driving up to OR for this event.
Would you provide some feedback? Would you prefer to have just a link for new classes or do you wish to continue with the format below? I look at this calendar on a pretty large monitor but I imagine many of you may be looking at this on your smartphones.
