Book & Paper Arts Calendar Updates - March 27, 2020 [Cancellations, Postponements and Stay At Home Activities]
Hello everybody,
These are unprecedented times! Most of us are following a stay at home order in order to slow the SARS-CoV-2 virus spread that is causing the COVID-19 disease. If you have to go out and you see people getting too close to you, you have my permission to educate them as to the appropriate distance. This is not only for them and you but for the people they and you have at home. I realize that for some people this is an abstract concept because it has not affected them or they do not fully understand or see the big picture. Be careful, stay distanced, wash your hands and clean your phone!
If you are looking for something to do below are some places where you can look for tutorials (most of them are free). Below are also dates you should know about as far as taxes (you still need to file extensions by the dates below if you need it) and California real IDs are concerned. I will try to update the calendar with cancellations and reschedules as much as possible. If you have signed up for a workshop please go to that organization's website to check on the status.
Hang in there - Jade
Federal tax day - now July 15, 2020
California tax day - now July 15, 2020 (probably the same date for most states but do check with your state's tax board for the new tax date)
California real ID - now October 1, 2021
If you have a mortgage do check with your banks - the major banks are waiving mortgage payments for 90 days
If you rent your landlord is not allowed to start the eviction process until May 31 (but this may be on a city by city basis)
Check with your banks to see if they will defer any other monthly payments
