MUSUBU: Book Art Tokyo-California (April 7, 2018 – May 19, 2018) Musubu is a Japanese word that means: to tie, to connect, or to be bound by friendship. ==================== All things internet …

Ginger Burrell is working on a new Artists’ Book titled “If I don’t make it, I love you”. She is collecting the messages that people would like their loved ones to be given in case of an emergency. Messages will be quoted directly in the book and combined with imagery she creates based on the message. The only identifying information with each message will be first and last initial. She has done similar projects in the past, specifically The Heaven Project, if you want to get some idea about her work. To have your message included in the book, please email your message to ginger@rkg.com

Peter Baumgartner is an amazing paper engineer and bookbinder. He has a video on youtube on how to make a “Blossom Box” (there are other wonderful videos). Get the video and template here

The Art of Narrative: The local PBS station in Seattle made this really wonderful short video of Sandra Kroupa to celebrate her upcoming 50th anniversary of working for the University of Washington Libraries. She is a true artist’s book superfine and and very serious about making sure the artist’s book collection at UW gets seen by many many students every quarter. A well-deserved acknowledgement of an important person in the book art community! https://kcts9.org/programs/arts/art-narrative-meet-uw-librarian-50-years-who-oversees-collection-rare-artists-books

==================== How do they do that?

If you have always wanted to know how to glue one thing to another thing check out this website - http://thistothat.com/cgi-bin/glue.cgi?lang=en. Love their FAQ! Thanks to Judith C. for letting us know during her workshop.

13 tricks to fall asleep faster - https://tinyurl.com/yay238fg Two more tips - take your calcium dose an hour or 2 before going to bed and then when ready to sleep count backwards from 300 by 3’s, for example, 297, 294, 291, .... However I have started using tip #4 from above and that works just as well. The whole idea to is to get your heart rate down and even out your breathing.
