Today’s Word: Detect
Today’s Mewsing: As you grow as a writer, as you learn to reach out to the Creative Cauldron with more skill and surety, over time you will be able to detect more and more.
Detect when you are faltering, when you are Stuck, when you are self-sabotaging in any of the ways we writers know so well.
Detect when you are close to Story, when you are near to the place where the writing can take over – at least for a time.
Detect when you are not. When a Story turns out not to be yours to tell, for whatever the reason(s) may be.
Detect when you need to Stop for a time. To do more research. To give yourself a break. To step away and become refreshed, to return anew.
Detect when you need to keep going, to push on, to capture the story as it comes to you, to avoid giving in to your fears.
You will be able to detect all these and more.
You 'simply' have to keep writing.
