This card is about facing ‘reality’ rather than staying in the Land of Dreams. It’s about choosing one prroject to become viable in the Waking World at this time, leaving the rest for another time. Relating to the Alchemy of Action, discussed in Mewsletter #7, in that it’s about bringing one prrroject to life, instead of sweeping the workshop floor, endlessly Dreaming of the prrroject to be, instead of doing those things which will bring it to the Waking World.

Overreaction
as a creator becomes
insidious norm.
Maybe somebody didn’t like your creation. Or you got a rejection slip. It is easy to overreact and think that everybody hates your work.
Instead, stay on an emotional even keel. You are never going to please everybody, so don’t try. Do the best work you can and keep pouncing.

We all can only
focus our full attention
on one thing, one time.
When I sit down to create, I think about my prrrojects and choose one. Then I begin, making the psychic hyperlink to that place. I’ve noticed I can do that deeply for one prrroject per writing session.
In another session, I can do another prrroject. But if I try to do more than one in a session, nothing deep gets written.

Instability is
an emotional magnet.
Tread carefully now.
There are times when – for whatever reason – there is emotional upset. We all go through it at one time or another. In those moments, those are the times when you need to be very careful of your decision-making. So you do not do one of those ‘what did I do that for?’ things.
Try to remain in control and do not make decisions in a moment of upset that you will regret later.

Reduce your loves to one thing
the middle of all.
To be a success-ful multipassionate creator is possible. It is also ever so much easier if you can find the center of your loves and work on bringing those to your Audience.

Moments of upset
Drama in all its glory
Makes characters real.
In times of upset, we have all made mistakes. If we want a character to be believable, we need to portray those times accurately.
Try remembering those times in your past when such a thing occurred. Write it down. How would you write about a character in emotional upset who made a bad decision?
If you can get the emotions correct, you can remind your audience about those times in their lives and that will make all the difference.

For more years than I care to recall, I was determined that ALL my creative loves would be part of what I created for a living.
It didn’t work out well.
Then I realized that while it IS possible to be a success-full multipassionate creator, it would be ever so much easier if I found the center of those loves and worked from there.
That’s what we’re doing now. And while it’s still early days yet, there are already signs that yes, this is a Path that works.
