Believe
Thoughts on Trust, Believe, and Dreams.

In times of trouble, your Dreams can seem so far away, plowed under by the weight of reality. Just surviving seems hard enough, never mind anything else.
And yet, it is at these times when your Dreams can be the most important, can save you from the weight of despair by giving you something to work towards, to look forward to.
I’m not saying this is easy – far from it! I am saying that it is necessary. You can live without it, yes, but it will be easier – for the given definition of ‘easier’ – to do it with instead.
Remembering your Dreams.
Taking Action – however small and/or seemingly insignificant – on your Dreams.
Trusting that your Dreams are possible.
Believing that your Dreams are possible.
Letting Go and doing what you can in the prrresent – for both your prrresent and your future.
Trust and Believe have saved Mike’s and my bacon many times over the years. Particularly in the last six, as we have battled homelessness and despair and an absurd lack of social programs and infrastructure to (finally!) begin to come out the other side here at the end of 2024.
I still remember the furrst miracle we were given during that time, tho’ far from the last. My sister-in-spirit had arrived to provide hope and groceries and had taken us out to dinner. We were sitting there, along with several of her other friends who lived in the area, waiting for our meals to arrive, when she said that she had brought a couple of word-stones for us from her bowl back in Brooklyn.
The look on her face when she handed them to us was something I’ll never forget.
Wonder – and fear.
Why?
Because the stones she handed us – Trust and Believe – were NOT the stones she had picked up out of her bowl in Brooklyn.
They were the ones she gave to us in Ann Arbor, however.
The furrst miracle of many.
Trust doesn’t mean sitting there and doing nothing.
Believe doesn’t mean turning off your brain and your critical thinking skills.
They do mean opening yourself up to possibility, to Spaciousness, Allowing yourself to Trust and Believe that things can be different.
Will be different.
And then beginning to do the things that help that to happen.
As we close out this year of 2024 for those following the Gregorian calendar, I wish you the ability to Trust and Believe - and Achieve! - your Dreams.
