Issue #9 (January/mid-February)
Oops it's like halfway through the month
Hi there! Lots of updates this month.
APOCALYPSE FRAME
v1.0 is out! It’s been a long time coming and I’m very grateful to the people who worked with me on it (Marx Shepherd, Galen Pejeau, Mykell Pledger). You probably already know about it if you’re reading this but it not, you can get it here!
In addition, I updated Framed by the Apocalypse to include a template. This should make it way easier.
ANOINTED23
It’s continuing! I’ve wrapped up the Delta Sinkhole and have started the Battlefield of Karus, a bitterly cold area representing a skirmish between two sides.
Valiant Horizon
Slight twist! I’m developing Valiant Horizon, another Total//Effect game, while thinking about how to proceed with Liminal Void (which is going to take a lot more thought as to its ship and economy subsystems). Valiant Horizon is a JRPG-inspired crystal-fantasy-ish game with a strong emphasis on character development via relationships and reputation. So far I have:
A combat and skill system reconfigured from Liminal Void’s implementation to emphasize a more “heroic” approach.
12 classes, which characters can mix and match from based on relationships with other player characters and NPCs.
Relationship and Reputation mechanics
Some enemies to use, and scaling rules for higher levels/tiers
The rough draft on the player side is mostly done, mechanically: the big things I need to add are GM-side advice and world/vibe-based. I’m playing this with my main group, so it’ll be refined in the months to come.
I’ll be posting about this a little more soon on Cohost probably.
And those are the updates for now! Until next time!
