Issue #6 (October-ish/early November)
Maybe this one will actually be sent to subscribers? Thanks, Substack. Thubstack.
Hi there, and welcome to the first Substack edition of the newsletter! Apologies for the confusion/any weirdness on account of this. (I switched from Revue because Twitter is currently a tire fire and I expect Revue is not long for this world as a result.)
APOCALYPSE FRAME
APOCALYPSE FRAME v1.0’s text/layout is close! I’ve laid out basically the entire original book. Just waiting on the last set of edits to the Advanced Rules (aka the original ACES HIGH content) and I’ll lay that out and it’ll be mostly ready. In the meantime, enjoy the 2nd piece Mykell Pledger did for APOCALYPSE FRAME, the L2-BRAWLER:
My hope is that everything will be finalized soon. (Still deciding what I want to do for the release in a few parts.) I’ll be exporting the layout style guide to Framed by the Apocalypse as well to make things easier for prospective creators on that front.
RUNE/The Binary Atlas
RUNE’s backer edition is out, so I’ve been busy there too! One thing I’ve been doing recently is playing a lot of RUNE this month - RUNEvember, in which I play through and do design commentary on every 3rd party RUNE realm, is up and running this month. (I’m going to be updating my own Realms as well to match the backer edition changes. Might make another too. We’ll see.)
Total//Effect
While that’s been brewing, I’ve been busy elsewhere too. As mentioned in the last newsletter, I’m working on Total//Effect, an upcoming SRD/toolkit/etc, as well as the first game I’m making for it, Liminal Void. I’ve posted about this twice so far:
First, I posted about the core mechanic.
Second, I posted about the specific subsystems I’ve built out for it, and their use in the three games I’m outlining as examples.
Finally, as you may have noticed from clicking half the links here, I’m on cohost! (Again, I have no expectation of Twitter being around at any given point. Also cohost is great so far!)
Until next time!
