Valiant Horizon! Machinations of Amirus! APOCALYPSE FRAME print!
Hi there! July was an extremely long month for a lot of reasons. Included in this newsletter are the good parts!
Valiant Horizon
Valiant Horizon is itchfunding and it’s doing great! Fantastically better than I thought it would, honestly! I broke my expected 2-week goal in a day. Now I’m just scraping forward to see if we can break $2000.
As of this newsletter, the three backer classes are all accounted for: the Adept, Assassin, and Astrologer are available to anyone who has the base game. I’ll be releasing devlogs soon along with some more of Charlotte’s incredible interior art talking about how I designed each class and why it’s the way it is.
Finally, at the end of the month I’m going to start conferring with current $50 and up backers about season pass plans. My goal is to come up with 4 themed “eras” for play, with each having 3 classes that roughly overlay a core class and a slew of enemies and prompts. $50 and up backers will get to make suggestions and vote on which themes for eras make it in!
Go get it if you haven’t! If you already have it and want to bump your pledge up, buy Just The Game again with the difference and either email me or shoot me a message on discord (binarystargames).
Machinations of Amirus
The Machinations of Court and Frame VN I was talking about last time is now called Machinations of Amirus! And Act 1 is now finished and free to play in-browser.
In it, you take the role of Captain, Knight, or Scion of a noble house. Based on your station, you’ll have a different set of life experiences that eventually lead you to Amirus: a planet undergoing a revolt that’s soon to be caught between the schemes of four noble Houses. In Act 1, you retake the planet, making friends, having mecha duels, and making key decisions that shape the course of things to come.
Go play it! It’s free and short!
APOCALYPSE FRAME
In trying to put finishing touches on things, I’m reworking a spread in the Running the Game section to better encourage campaign play. I realized from some feedback that some important stuff in ACES HIGH got left by the wayside, and I’d like to put it back in (along with some extra advice, and better play aids).
After that (and after some legal stuff get sorted) I’m gonna pull the trigger on a print run. Right now it’s looking like a 104-page, half-letter hardback.
So look forward to that! Exciting stuff.
And that’s all for this month! Until next time!
