It has been a bit more than a month since the last email so it is time to give a new update on the production and delivery schedule. Seeed Studio was kind enough to give me some precise informations.

To sum up:

  • 📈 More than 300 units have already been shipped. I would not say that this initial production was plain sailing. In fact, I had to provide a guide to fix some production problems in the very first batch. I want to thank all the people that took the time to share the experiences on the process and helped make the guide more precise for the rest.

  • 📦 Almost all of the standing orders have been fulfilled. There are still 69 orders to be shipped, and Seeed Studio assured me that it was identified as a priority.

  • 🏭 500 more units are expected to be produced by late July. From there, they will be shipped to warehouses in the US and Europe, arriving late August. This will allow to order from local warehouses and avoid customs issues.

Of course my most sincere apologies to the customers affected by the shipping delays, things should be smoother from now on!

📬 The large influx of new users also means that there were several requests to add features to the minichord. In the recent updates, the minichord has for example gained the ability:

  • to change the octave range of the chord and the harp section;

  • to allow for chromatic harp playing;

  • to choose whether the top left button was a sharp or a flat button.

One of the most interesting request was made by @terminalwaltz regarding the introduction of a “Barry Harris” mode, allowing a whole new range palette of tonal colours. He was kind enough to make a short explanation of the feature, and I strongly suggest all jazz enthusiast to give it a read!

To enjoy those updates, please follow the update procedure described here.

🗃️ In addition, I have created a first version of a website to share minichord presets. While there is currently only a few of them, you can help make it better by sending your home-made presets to presets@minichord.com.

🛠️ Finally, I have also started some threads to discuss the customisation of the minichord, with the goal to share methods and techniques that are DIY-friendly.

I look forward to adding even more features to the minichord!

Regards,

Benjamin
