Earworms + DJ Gig Announcements

I’ve had “Waiting to Wait for You” by N8NOFACE stuck in my head this week. It’s  a jam in the vein of alternative classics, as is much of what you’ll hear on his new EP, As of Right Now. The EP, a collaboration with Chico Mann and N8’s first release with Stone’s Throw, is out today and so is my interview with him.

Another new collab out now is Cerrone and Christine and the Queens’ EP, Catching Feelings. The four-song collection includes a new version of Cerrone’s signature track, “Supernature.” With Christine and the Queens on vocals and additional production from Purple Disco Machine, “Supernature MMXXV” becomes a festival-level banger. The album I listened to most this past week, though, is Un-American Activities by Molly Nilsson. This was one of my favorite albums of 2024, but it resonates more now given the situation in Los Angeles. I played “Jackboots Return” in my set at Bigfoot Lodge last weekend and wrote about the album earlier this week.

Tonight, I’ll be back at Catch One for Klub Nocturno. Tickets are available on Dice and they’re going fast, so get yours asap if you want to go. More recommendations for later this weekend and early next week are on Beatique.

Next week is going to be slammed. On Thursday, July 17, I’ll be the DJ for Olya Sonica’s single premiere show at Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood. Friday, July 18, is Club Underground’s Pulp Party. And, on Sunday, July 20, I’ll be playing Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions.

That’s all for now. See you on the dance floor.
