YOUR FOURTH BULLETIN FROM BART

I come to you fresh off some praise of GOOD HYGIENE! from my new dentist who is a handsome man with an accent that I was not expecting when I arrived at the dentist today. I am fairly immune to this type of man; the way he locked eyes with me made me believe he was expecting me to feel some type of way. I hate to disappoint but jokes on him- I floss daily1 and I know I impressed him! My previous dentist, who was prone to negging me, left the practice without any notice. I will not miss her. I have not had a man as a doctor in over 20 years and I have to say, it surprised me at how pleasant it was. Let’s hope this is the energy that APRIL will bring us!

Let’s get into it.

Listening

Girls- The Dare. I like what this guy is doing. It takes me instantly back to driving around northern Ohio with my friend Kevin, listening to the Rapture or music from our acquaintance Gregg Gillis (I partied a bunch with GirlTalk in college and it is by far my favorite name drop. He would not recognize me, but we would be able to reminisce about some epic house parties). The Dare has only two singles out (his other, Good Time is also good) and I like revisiting my party era via these tunes. This is a real ear worm.

Reading

People Change -Vivek Shraya- I appreciated the space this book held for challenging my own views- particularly those on plastic surgery and changing one’s outward appearance. If you haven’t read much—if any—trans authors, Vivek is a great start. I really enjoy her audio performances.

on naming yourself (a cento) -Jamila Woods - a poem I enjoyed recently

Schinner Files Countersuit Alleging Discrimination, Wrongful Termination - some vegan dairy chisme!

Sunscreen

A member of my team was frustrated that since he began wearing daily sunscreen he was breaking out more. I asked the brain trust of beauty suggestions for some SPF reccos and will share with you as well! There were a handful of good options at a few different price points. Please wear daily sunscreen. Especially if you drive in your car daily! it’s just GOOD HYGIENE!

Original SPF 45 Sunscreen Face Mist - so easy to use with a classic sunscreen scent. I keep one in my bag.

Aloe Soothing Sun Cream SPF50+/ PA+++ - an affordable K-beauty option

Ava Isa Sun-è-Serum Drops SPF 35 Sunscreen - I was convinced to buy this when I had a facial for my birthday. It’s spendy but it’s LUXE. I love it and will be sad when it’s empty.

RADICALLY REJUVENATING SPF DAY CREAM - this brand is a health food store staple

ECLIPSE Sheer Mineral Sunscreen - an eco friendly option

Superlight Sunscreen SPF 30 - I was told this is readily available and affordable at TARGET

UV Protector Multi-Defense SPF 50+ / PA++++ - I was gifted this by my manager and it is also so nice that I am precious with it but you’re not supposed to be with SPF. New goal- finish this tube!

This delighted me

Murdle is a apart of the wordle daily puzzle trend. It’s a fun logic puzzle and the author has a great sense of humor. You get to solve a murder daily!

a quote

Good players adjust.

I cannot recall where I heard this recently but it’s really stuck with me. Work has been in a serious adjustment period- layoffs, office move, staffing adjustments. It’s something I’ve shared with my team and meditate on when making decisions. Consider it my Ted Lasso advice of the month.
