Treasure Coast Indivisible Notes
Good morning
I was so busy reminding you all of what to do last week that I never mentioned the great wins in Wisconsin and Georgia last Tuesday. Yes, I know the Democrat lost the house seat in Georgia, but the percentage by which he lost was about 25% less than that by which Trump had won the district.
These results have a special meaning for DiSantis and the Florida congressional delegation. The governor has called a special session of the legislature to redistrict congressional districts to squeeze more seats. That’s illegal in FL because in 2010 the legislature passed the Fair District Amendments to the state constitution. Article III, Section 20 states “no apportionment plan or individual district shall be drawn with the intent to favor or disfavor a political party”.
That hasn’t stopped DiSantis. But is it scaring some Republican legislators after Dems flipped 2 seats. They are afraid of the “dummymander”, when you aggressively redistrict try to help your party get more seats but end up weakening the candidates of that party in those new districts.
Anyway, I thought this was interesting.
Today’s WCID’s. The Congress is back today. Time to call and remind them to vote in favor of the War Powers Act. They must begin to take back some of their constitutional powers. See 5Calls. There is a great script.
Thanks for all that you are doing.

PS. After I finished this email, I read a post by Shankar Narayan, a writer I follow and respect. I am enclosing a link to today’s post about why Orban’s loss is so important for the US
