September 2026: I Hope You're Ready For Dryad

What could Sasha be begging for? You’ll find out soon! Art by Pacha!

Happy September, all! Is anyone actually stoked that it’s September? It always feels like a real anticlimax of a month. Ah, well. To the update!

Monstrous Liberation Work

Another short Monstrous Liberation section this month, due mainly to the fact that the Dryad Update is almost completely finished and in the game. I’m currently in the middle of hooking up all the new writing and art, and unless something truly unfortunate happens it should be launching in early October!

Once it does, we’ll get down to working on the second-to-last update for the game, the one that will directly precede the finale: the Aberration Update. More details to follow!

Tourney of Tyranny

Shitposts like these tend to occur organically on a project like ToT. Art by Blueparikeet!

As promised in last month’s newsletter, Tourney of Tyranny Part 2: A Conquest Claimed launched this month! The book is 54 pages long, including 10,000 words of erotic sci-fi comedy writing by me, 13 new illustrations by Blueparikeet, and several pages of extra production art and commentary! There’s a lengthy free SFW preview available for download on Itch, and if you haven’t read the first part (A Champion Chosen), you can pick up both books at once as a discounted bundle! Give it a try, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

From The Blog

We finally reached the end of the many essays from the fourth issue of the Adult Analysis Anthology this month! AND I finally wrote something original for the blog for the first time in forever! It’s very braggy but who gives a care! I wanted to brag so I did! Speaking of AAA, I’m working on a style guide as a resource for contributors to future issues, so look forward to seeing that in a couple weeks!

  • The Erotic Circle by Gwyndolyn Marchant

  • Tourney of Tyranny Is Some Of My Best Writing Yet by me! (Bigg!)

The Consumption Stumption

Playing 1: I finally decided to pop the top on Jump Over The Age’s Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, having loved the first game to pieces (I actually accidentally purchased the game twice on both Steam and Switch, so, you’re welcome Damian). I’ve been broadly satisfied with Starward Vector, although I’m finding it a little bit too easy. Although you could get to a point in the first Citizen Sleeper where all of your needs are taken care of and you can approach new challenges with very little risk, it takes a LOT of work to get there and you spend much of the early and mid-game feeling as though you’re walking a thrilling razor’s edge. Starward Vector feels like it gives you a lot of resources right up front, which robs it of that scrappy, desperate vibe and makes it almost stray into coziness. It’s fine, I’m not MAD, I can just tell it’s not going to loom as large in my memory as the first game.

Playing 2: As a much-needed treat for myself (see below) I picked up Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Zero Company and although I’m only a few cycles in I’m having a blast. I’m a huge fan of Clone-Wars-era Star Wars and this game has PERFECT command of that narrative space. I really enjoy the player character - I made myself into a pink-skinned togruta named Rawhide who beats ass and shreds on the space-guitar. I also have inordinate fondness for the company’s accountant, another togruta named Runa who is voiced impeccably by Dropout’s own Vic Michaelis. I’m really looking forward to getting deeper with it after such strong early impressions.

Lewis lounging indolently on his last night with us.

Cat Update: Lewis, the seven-or-eight-year-old ginger tabby I was fostering, was adopted and has moved into his forever home! Although parting with him was very emotional because I really did love the little guy, I’m very happy that he’s been matched with an owner who’s going to spoil him rotten and shower him with affection. I might have been tempted to adopt him myself, but we’re two middle-aged men whose lifestyles just never fully aligned. For example, Lewis was a great believer in an 11PM bedtime, while I’m basically nocturnal, which peeved Lewis to no end. He’d stand on my bed and yell at me, then walk over to the window and stare pointedly at the dark outside, and then come back to yell at me some more as if to say “look! It’s dark out! That means it’s time to sleep! Come sleep!” This led to a nightly ritual where I would take him out of my room to the living room and sit with him on my lap until he contentedly drifted off, at which point I could transfer him onto a pillow and get on with my night. Which I know SOUNDS cute, because it was, but boy howdy am I ever glad to have more of my life back because he did take a lot of looking after.
