October 2025: Monsters In Progress

Happy October, everyone! The month’s been beautiful so far here, plus I managed to sneak in a quick 37th birthday this week. I had a slice of cheesecake and several people bought me video games. Let’s get into the update!
Monstrous Liberation Work
As promised, we’re well into building out the second major update for Monstrous Liberation. I’ve spent my working hours this month plumping out the asset list with lots and lots of detailed reference material (including but not limited to: a collection of anime men with perfectly-rounded holes blasted through their torsos, several high-definition images of aquariums, several close-ups showcasing the consistency of Nickelodeon’s “Gak” toy slime, and an absolute fuckload of Magic Poser screencaps). I’m both proud and relieved to report that the thing is Basically Done and I can move on to more-stimulating tasks.
Pacha’s work this month focused mainly on getting the sprites done for Vulpes Thundergrip, ghostly Arch-Rector of the Civitas Imperito University of the Esoteric Arts (art above!). Because I am a twisted psycho who delights in spreading misery, I decided that this single character should be, in fact, three characters - each one representing a different aspect of Vulpes’s fractious self-image. Looking forward to getting you acquainted with all of them!
Next month, I’ll be working on getting our other artists looped-in on what they’ll be working on alongside Pacha, then getting started on the lengthy process of script-writing. Pacha will be continuing to work on sprites - can’t wait to show off more of what we’ve got coming!
From The Blog
We’re finally through posting the web versions of the AAA3 essays! I did my first original blog post in months! Looking forward to doing more of that, I think!
BP-Games-Brand Consent-Like Products (TM) - A return to form from yours truly, digging in to our approach to the thorny topic of sexual consent in our sexual stories.
The COMPLETE Subverse Review - A truly mammoth piece of writing, combining my initial review of Subverse’s 0.9 early access version from AAA2 and my review of the final 1.1 version from AAA3. It’s over 10 thousand words of writing about this awful piece of garbage!
A Delectable Teaser For You And Possibly Only You, Dear Update Reader
I’ve had a secret mostly-for-fun project in the works for a long while now, and I thought it’d be nice to give you a little taste. It’s a comedic erotic fantasy illustrated light novel, with art by BlueParikeet! Titled “TOURNEY OF TYRANNY”, it’s about a schlub by the name of Lilith Lacrimosa whose admittedly-pretty-bad life is turned upside-down when spacefaring goblins recruit her as their champion in a tournament of sex & seduction where the stakes are literal galactic dominion - without mentioning that they intend to cheat by giving her mind control powers. The first chapter has been written & edited and all the illustrations are complete, so all that remains is to make the cover and format everything together. The full version of “TOURNEY OF TYRANNY PART 1: A CHAMPION CHOSEN” will be available for purchase on the BP Games Subscribestar page, but please enjoy this extended preview!

Lilith opened the door.
“Mm. Sluggish response time. We’ll work on that.”
This rude (and accurate) assessment of Lilith’s door-opening had come from a squat, primly-dressed woman who looked to be almost half Lilith’s height. Behind her was another woman, this one younger, slender, nervous, dressed in… Lilith wasn’t sure. Some kind of bodysuit? Both were green and had tusks.
Hold on, Lilith’s brain said as it reviewed the past few seconds. What was that last bit?
“Director N’Shaggah… we should probably-” the younger woman began before being waved into silence by the short woman, who was clearly her superior.
“Yes, yes. Indeed. No time to waste.” The short woman looked Lilith up and down, making small ‘mhmm, mhmm’ noises. “So, this is what we’re working with… wonderful. Simply wonderful.”
Lilith blinked. That last “wonderful” had been exceptionally genuine. She felt it warranted some kind of response. “Um. Thank? You???” she offered. This drew a small, prim smile from the small, prim woman. “Uh. Is there something-”
“Very good of you to offer, we’ll do just that.” chirped the small woman, somehow inventing an invitation to come inside through sheer force of will. She and her young attaché bustled straight past Lilith into her apartment. Feeling somewhat dazed, Lilith quietly shut the door behind them and followed them inside.
“Let’s get some LIGHT in here, for the Last Fleet’s sake.” At the short woman’s command, Lilith’s blackout curtains were thrown open for the first time in three months, sending distressingly-large clumps of accumulated dust flying into the air.
As dust drifted down around them like snow, the newly-admitted beams of evening light confirmed for Lilith that her guests (well, “invaders” was really the more correct term, but Lilith was already tamping down a panic attack as it was) did indeed have distinctly green-tinted skin and definite tusks. The short woman’s skin was brighter, like the inside of a ripe avocado, and her tusks were larger, jutting out from her face. The younger woman’s skin was the color of a shallow forest pond, darker and mottled, and her tusks were more delicate and closer-set than her superior’s. Their clothing was unlike anything Lilith had ever seen. The material’s color seemed to shiver and writhe under Lilith’s gaze, refusing to conform to a single hue or pattern for long.
The short woman seemed to be taking inventory of the apartment, bustling to and fro, muttering “Wonderful!” every now and then with every sign of sincerity. “Wonderful!” as she tore open Lilith’s fridge, empty except for a bag of shredded cheese and a prehistoric box of baking soda. “Wonderful!” as she shoved her arm up to the shoulder into Lilith’s teetering pile of undone laundry. “Wonderful!” as she discovered the mold colonies that were embroiled in a bitter war for territory on the ceiling of Lilith’s bathroom. By the time she completed her tour of Lilith’s living space, the short woman was actually humming to herself.
“You’ll, um, have to forgive her.” The younger woman had silently glided up behind Lilith, making her jump. “Sorry. You’re just… well, kind of a dream come true. She’s excited.”
The Consumption Stumption
Playing 1: I’ve been chewing through a lot of shorter game experiences on my Steam Deck lately, and frankly having a very nice time doing so. For instance, last week I knocked back Happy Broccoli’s Duck Detective: The Secret Salami and Duck Detective: The Ghost Of Glamping in a single play session apiece. Lovely little things! Extremely cute and funny, with delightful voice performances throughout. Just the thing to spend these chilly autumn evenings with.
Playing 2: Also among my shorter bespoke game experiences was Studio Plane Toast’s Caravan SandWitch, which I finished just a couple nights ago. Very very pretty game, with real care taken to make the whole environment feel organic and lived-in. My one criticism is that I think the script lost a bit of its vitality in the localization process between its original French and English, but I’d still very much recommend you giving it a try.
Watching: I was fortunate enough to get to attend an advance festival screening of Wake Up Dead Man, the latest Knives Out mystery flick with Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig and everyone else, and had an absolute blast. They’ve fuckin’ still got it, folks! Some absolute stand-out performances from Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Josh Brolin, and Glenn Close, incredible work from the lighting team and the DP, and a real heater of a mystery story to boot. You owe it to yourself to check this one out once it hits theatres/streaming.
Wrapping Up
That brings us to the end of another update! Much more to come before too long, so stay tuned! Please consider supporting our work on either Patreon or Subscribestar! Thank you so much for following BP Games and enjoying the things we create!
