January 2026: Picking Up Steam

Happy(?) January, everyone! Brand new year! Lots going on! Hoo boy, is there ever a lot going on at the present moment! Some would say that there is perhaps a bit TOO much going on for it to be just halfway through the first month of the year! But what do I know, I’m just a Canadian porn guy! Let’s see what awaits us in this month’s update!
Monstrous Liberation Work
Both Pacha and I took some much-needed time to rest and relax over the winter holidays, but we’re back and charging full-speed for the end of February, at which point we hope to have all of the content (that is, all the writing and art) for the next update ready to go! Then, after a few more weeks for implementation and testing, we should be ready to push said update out to you by the end of March/start of April! Actual launch date pending, but it’s something to look forward to!
For my side of things, the total wordcount of the next update’s script just ticked past 20k today! I’m expecting to add about 30k more to that between now and the end of February, which means that I need to hold myself to writing 4,500 words per week, which means that I need to hold myself to writing 900 words per day (assuming 5 working days per week). That’s a lot, but it’s doable! I think! I’ll let you know how it’s going in February!
On the art side of things, Pacha completed the first of the two sex scenes for Vessel (our incoming mimic character) before going on her winter holiday, and will be going full-tilt on her remaining scene art work. Julian is also deep into their work on the art for the end-of-update cutscene, and I’m SUPER excited for people to encounter what they’ve got bubbling and roiling within their cauldron. Finally, we’ve had a bit of good news: Dieselbrain’s availability has opened back up, so she’s hopping on to take over one of Pacha’s scenes, which should ensure that we can hit art-complete without anyone needing to work themselves to the bone! Neat! The Hideout mini-scene art for this update will be split between Diesel and Julian after they finish their respective long scenes.
So, yeah, expect to see a LOT of progress to report in next month’s newsletter! Also expect us to be quite tired!

Soon. Just you wait. Just you WAIT.
The Consumption Stumption
Playing: I need to admit something. I went way, WAY too hard on the Steam Winter Sale this year, to the point where I’m suffering some of the worst video game choice paralysis of my life. A non-exhaustive list of the games I picked up includes: One or Eight’s The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily, Chromatic Ink’s Dice Gambit, Sonderlust Studios’ Generation Exile, Space Colony Studios’ Stories From Sol: The Gun-Dog, CyberConnect2’s Fuga: Melodies Of Steel, and Brace Yourself Games’ Phantom Brigade. And that isn’t even half of what I got. I know. I KNOW. And the worst part? The ACTUAL worst part? After getting ALL those games, you know what I’m playing? Capcom’s The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, a game I’ve owned since 2021 but just never got around to finishing. I mean, it’s GOOD. I’m having FUN. I really like the segments where you get to deduce things with Herlock Sholmes, exasperating twink that he is. I just can’t help being profoundly embarrassed of my own shit in this moment.
Reading: I happened to come into a small fortune in bookstore gift cards over the holidays, so I blew the whole wad on a number of graphic novel indulgences. Once such indulgence was picking up Dark Horse’s collection of Mobius’s Edena comics - I’ve been aware of Mobius as a hugely-influential legendary comics genius for some time, of course, but this is the first book of his work I’ve ever actually owned. It’s good! Hilariously French. Very easy to see how this blew everyone’s minds wide open back in its day. I also got a couple volumes of Kaoru Mori’s excellent adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma, which is both jawdroppingly beautiful (as should be no surprise to anyone familiar with Mori’s work on A Bride’s Story), and the single horniest piece of maid-focused media ever to grace the printed page. There is simply nobody who wants to fuck women like Kaoru Mori does. My best friend also got me brand-new copies of a couple of Goscinny & Uderzo’s Asterix comics, namely The Banquet and The Chieftain’s Shield. I’ve loved these comics since I was a little boy, to the point that my old copies of those books are literally falling apart. It’s a great joy to be able to read them afresh.

That brings us to the end of another update! A refreshingly straightforward one this time around, I thought.
