December 2025: Tourney of Tyranny Launches!

Prime Vulpes, echo-aspect of ghost wizard Vulpes Thundergrip, gives a lecture at the University of the Esoteric Arts. Surely nothing untoward is going on underneath that lectern! Art by Pacha!

Happy December, everyone! Got all your shopping done? Me personally, I’m holding some cash in reserve for the holiday sale season. Let’s get into all the fun stuff for this update!

Monstrous Liberation Work

On my end, I’ve made some good progress on the update script over the past month! The Scholar District introduction has been completed, and I’m about halfway through the script for Vulpes Thundergrip, with the total wordcount for the update’s script currently sitting at about 12.5k (as a point of reference, the last update wound up adding about 50k words of new writing to the game).

Pacha, for her part, finished the art for the first of Vulpes’s two sex scenes, the first image of which you can see above! What could be going on under that lectern, I wonder? If you’d like an early peek, I’ve been posting selections of the art from it to our Patreon and Subscribestar pages!

Over the next month, I’m planning to finish up Vulpes’s portion of the script and get a solid way into either Vessel or Charybdis’s scripts (if not finishing one of them outright. It’s good to be ambitious with your goals!) Pacha will keep going with the splash art, so look forward to more of that!

Tourney of Tyranny Officially Launches!

The final cover for Tourney of Tyranny Part 1: A Champion Chosen! Art by Blueparikeet!

That’s right! Brand new pornography alert! You can now purchase Tourney of Tyranny Part 1: A Champion Chosen, the first in my series of erotic-comedy mind-control illustrated light novels, directly from our Subscribestar collections! You can also pick it up if you’re subscribing to the page at $5 or higher! If you’d like to try before you buy, the first 9 pages are available on Itch as a free preview!

Tourney of Tyranny has been a tremendously enjoyable and liberating project for me to work on alongside Monstrous Liberation. I love making games, but the thing about games is that you need to grind away at them for months at a stretch before you have anything to show. It’s pretty important for my overall satisfaction to have shorter-term projects, and this light novel has been just the thing. I’ve had a blast writing in a prose style, and I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that I think this book contains some of my best writing to date. (And when I say I’ve had fun writing this story, I mean that I’m actually already almost finished the rough draft of Part 2. I’ve got some momentum going!) It’s been great working with Blueparikeet as well, he’s a real pro and has brought a lot of good insight to the project on his end.

I want to underline that it really stinks, not being able to offer this book for sale on Itch or basically anywhere besides Subscribestar due to its mind-control content, which is basically payment processor poison these days. I like to think of this project as a bet on a better world manifesting sometime in a hopefully-not-too distant future, whereupon I’ll have several instalments of this really good story ready to go. In the meantime, if you could give the book a shot and maybe share it around (because it sure won’t be getting much visibility help from Itch) I’d really appreciate it!

The official description of Tourney of Tyranny:

Tourney of Tyranny is a pornographic illustrated light novel (written by BP Game's Bigg, with art by Blueparikeet) about LILITH LACRIMOSA, a schlubby, lonely failwoman working a dead-end job whose life is turned upside-the-fuck-down when a pair of goblin-like aliens show up and pressgang her into becoming their race's champion in a tournament for galactic dominion! The catch: the tournament is all about sex, and to give their champion an edge, the Goblinoids have secretly given Lilith's powers of persuasion a significant upgrade...

Mr. Bitch

A few weeks ago on Bluesky I made a fateful series of posts about a fictional children’s book character I made up from whole cloth named “Mr. Bitch”. Barely anybody liked the idea but I personally found it really funny so I’m cooking up something really self-indulgent in order to make Mr. Bitch happen. Stay tuned.

The Consumption Stumption

Playing: I snagged the Ultimate Edition of Ubisoft’s Star Wars: Outlaws in the Epic Games Store’s Black Friday sale, and I’ve been enjoying it! Not really enough to recommend without a number of caveats, but it’s a very interesting case study for all the ways in which it attempts to wed the Ubisoft house style of open-world RPG with the Star Wars setting. A lot of things about this game look and feel very good - every new environment is beautiful, this game LOOKS like Star Wars, it’s a blast to zip around on the speeder bike, the gunplay is chaotic and enjoyable, the spaceflight stuff is surprisingly good, and the little freak you pal around with is a charming little bingus of a guy. At the same time, it’s kind of fundamentally sauceless in a way that I think will ultimately relegate it to the dustbin of history.

Reading: While shopping for Christmas presents in a local indie bookstore, I spotted and picked up Cam Marshall’s Matchmaker just for myself, and I’m glad I did. It’s a solid brick of a book collecting the entire three-year run of Marshall’s queer pandemic-dating comedy webcomic, and while I got some good laughs going through it I also identified EXTREMELY strongly with the simmering-just-below-the-surface, hidden-by-weary-smiles-and-cheerful-nihilism anger in Marshall’s characters. Highly recommend picking it up!

Listening: While I’m handing out recommendations, A More Civilized Age (my all-time favorite Star Wars podcast), did an episode this month about 1978’s much-maligned Star Wars Holiday Special. It’s fucking hilarious, it’s seasonally-appropriate, and you truly don’t need to know one single thing about Star Wars to enjoy it. Have a happy Life Day!
