April 2026: Locked & Loaded

Happy April, everyone! It’s springtime here, the trees are getting green on them, and I’m catsitting an aggressively-affectionate tortoiseshell named Midna. Let’s get into the update!
Monstrous Liberation Update
So, “bad” news first: you’re going to have to wait a LITTLE bit longer for the next Monstrous Liberation update. This is NOT because it isn’t ready to go; in fact, the entire update was completed a few days before the end of March. This is just regular-degular scheduling stuff - there’s a Steam event coming in early May that our publisher wants to launch the update alongside, so that’s what we’re doing. The official launch date for the update will be May 4th, 2026!
Since wrapping the last big update, Pacha and I both took some time away from MonLib. Pacha went on a very nice vacation with her family to the mountains, while I shifted focus to AAA4 (more on that below). However, we’re both back in the saddle on game work after our time away - I’ve been getting into some asset list & planning work, while Pacha has started working on some fun art stuff. We’ll have more to show next update!
AAA Issue 4

As of a couple days ago, almost all of the writers for the fourth issue of the Adult Analysis Anthology have submitted their first drafts, and almost all of THOSE have gone through at least one round of edits and feedback from yours truly! We’ve even got a few essays that are fully final-version, which is a good place to be at in this stage of the process. Overall, everything’s proceeding according to schedule - I MIGHT decide to push the final anthology launch back a week or two due to Monstrous Liberation’s update launching later than I was expecting, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.
The one sour notes for this issue is that through the draft review process, I discovered that not one but TWO of the people whose pitches had been accepted for this issue were using LLMs to generate their drafts (along with a considerable amount of their e-mail communications). This was both frustrating and saddening - historically, I’ve extended a lot of good faith towards our contributors, because I believe that a somewhat-underbaked pitch can be refined and a messy essay can be massaged into serviceability with enough care and attention. I don’t WANT to suspect the people who submit pitches to the anthology of this kind of thing! I honestly never expected the pitch form to attract the notice of low-effort scammers, but I suppose the operative term is “low-effort” - if you figure you can score an easy 90 bucks for five minutes of prompting, why NOT try it?
Beyond the audacity of these bitches, the irritating thing is that it necessitated me securing two late-notice replacement essayists, which thankfully I was able to do. Since the anthology that people supported via the fundraiser was an anthology with fourteen essays by fourteen different essayists, I wanted to make sure we at least hit that mark even if it wasn’t with the slate of essayists that was initially promised. Outside of this one rather annoying hiccup, work on the anthology is progressing nicely, and the final anthology should be out sometime in May.
Tourney Of Tyranny Part 2

Blueparikeet’s been chipping away at the illustrations for the next entry in the Tourney of Tyranny light novel series, so I figured I’d let a little bit waft out of the pot and show you this instalment’s cover art! I love this art, and am a particularly big fan of Therkla & Grizzelda’s absolutely Beavis-and-Butthead-ass expressions.
The Consumption Stumption
Playing: I leveraged the power of this year’s tax refund and combined it with a couple hundred dollars’ worth of Amazon gift cards to land myself a Switch 2, and like basically everyone else who owns one of those consoles I got myself Pokopia. What can you really say about Pokopia at this point, man. It’s Pokopia. It’s basically about as perfect a Pokemon game as there’s ever been. It’s like four great games all at once. I don’t need to sell you on Pokopia, because it’s Pokopia and basically everyone already wants to play Pokopia.
Reading: I’m a little ways into Shannon Chakraborty’s The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi, a historical-fantasy novel about a 16th-century female pirate who is attempting to live out her retirement after a long career of marauding through the Indian Ocean, when a ghost from her past pulls her back into the life for One Last Job. It’s pretty great so far.
Watching: Largely on a whim I decided to throw on John Frankenheimer’s tense espionage thriller Ronin. I enjoyed it quite a bit! Like a lot of action flicks of this era it’s a LITTLE overfond of the European Car Chase as being the pinnacle of engaging filmmaking, but it’s got great momentum and strong performances from basically the entire cast. Robert de Niro speaks surprisingly competent French throughout!

Something of a quieter update this time around, but next month will be much busier. Please consider supporting us on Patreon or Subscribestar if you don’t already!! Thank you so much for following BP Games and enjoying the things we create!
