April 2024 Update: Project Planning, Posts, And AAA#2

Welcome to April, everyone! Here in Vancouver we're already on our second round of bright-colored blossoms exploding from the trees, pollen is everywhere, and every bird in the city is screaming. It's my favorite time of year! Here's what we've been up to in the past month:
Monstrous Liberation Work
Since the launch of the Monstrous Liberation Steam page last month, Pacha and I have actually been working on some not-insignificant redesigns of a couple characters, including Sasha (our leading lady) along with reworking our launch content to remove the goblins we had planned and add in our minotaur character (Diogenes) earlier than initially planned.
On my end, this has meant revising dialogue I've already written to include new introduction material for Diogenes, and also planning out Diogenes's sex scenes so that Pacha can work on them while I'm grinding out the script. Long-time followers might recall that a significant aspect of our sex scene planning process include me mocking up key poses in Magic Poser, so please enjoy this sneak peek:

On Pacha's end, she first drew up a bunch of options for the Sasha redesign, which was geared towards making her read as "older". I'm very happy with the final result we settled on, which has a lot of elder-Zoomer magical girl energy to it. Now that Sasha's new look has been decided, Pacha is revising her existing sex scene art before getting started on new stuff.

Opportunity One-Shot Spinoff Work
In addition to the Monstrous Liberation revisions, another thing I did this month was firm up the concept for the Olive-led Opportunity spinoff visual novel we've got in the works.
From the concept document:
It’s several months after the end of Opportunity: A Sugar Baby Story, and Olive has decided to escape the cold & wet of the Canadian west coast winter by taking a cruise down to Mexico with her husband Clayton and girlfriend Jacqueline. Olive privately hopes the cruise gives the three a chance (and particularly Clayton and Jacqueline) to become closer without their children around.
It turns out that the cruise Olive booked (hurriedly, at 3AM, without reading any of the marketing materials anywhere NEAR closely enough) is an adults-only sex cruise! There’s a twist, too: guests on the cruise are split into teams of three and given a list of specific sexual exploits to complete before the ship docks. Whichever team completes the greatest number of said exploits will have all of their travel expenses refunded! (There are also several runner-up prizes). Olive, Clayton, and Jacqueline agree to compete.
The “gameplay” portion will take place over five days. The contest is formatted like BINGO (but is called FUCKO because it’s about fucking). There are different prizes for filling rows, columns, and diagonals, as well as a grand prize for filling out the most spots of any team. What prize Olive’s team gets (if any) will determine the ending that the player receives.
Adult Analysis Anthology Issue #2 In The Works!
AAA #2 is in the works!!! Very excited about this one, I had pitch submissions running for a week on Cohost and Twitter, and received some EXCELLENT pitches this time around. I've selected 10 pitches from the submissions and confirmed details with all of the writers, so now I'm currently working on the Indiegogo campaign which I'm hoping will launch soon!
The campaign's goal will be set at $1400 CAD, which is just above $1000 USD, which is broken down as such: $75 per writer x 10 = $750, plus $75 for my own work coordinating and editing the anthology, plus 11% for the BC small business income tax, plus 5% on top of that for Indiegogo's platform fee. It'll be a flexible-funding campaign, meaning that even if we don't hit the goal whatever we do get will be divided equally between all contributors (and should we go OVER the goal, the excess will be divided evenly as well). I'm nervous but $1400 CAD seems very achievable for a campaign that'll run for 30 days!
Remembering The Realms
This isn't strictly-speaking an update related to BP Games projects, but I figured I'd mention: this month I also started a project where I recount my experience of re-reading my 60-book teenage collection of Forgotten Realms novels, along with my own analysis and observations of different authors and series therein. It's been very fun and also kind of a lot more work than I initially thought that it would be. If you have any interest in the lore of the Dungeons & Dragons setting or are just interested in reading me writing about reading, give it a look! I'm currently profiling R. A. Salvatore and his many contributions to the series.
Wrapping Up
That does it for April's update! Thank you so much for following BP Games and enjoying the things we make!
