The Duke - 17th August 2024 at 2pm
Gather 'round for a cheeky bit of British history, brought to life in "The Duke"! It's 1961, and Kempton Bunton, a cheeky 60-year-old Newcastle cabbie played by the brilliant Jim Broadbent, is about to pull off a feat that'll knock your socks off. This plucky pensioner manages to swipe Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery - the first and only theft in its history! It's a ripping yarn that'll have you in stitches, cheering on our unlikely hero as he thumbs his nose at the establishment. With more twists than a country lane and a heart as warm as a nice cuppa, "The Duke" proves that even at 60, there's always time for a spot of rebellion.
Tickets are £5, including your first tea/coffee and biscuits.
You can purchase tickets online or on the phone at 01543 412121. Tickets can then be collected on the door.
Or you can always pay on the door.
