Hello all. Next week our monthly afternoon cinema returns to Burntwood Memorial Institute. We hope to see you there for out action blockbuster.

Before we talk about next week’s film, on November 18th we’ll be showing The Ballad of Wallis Island. It is a heart-warming and hilarious film about an eccentric lottery winner who brings together his favourite estranged folk duo for a private concert on his remote island, leading to a touching exploration of grief, love, and the healing power of music.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning 🛩️ Tuesday 16th September at 2pm

Join us at Burntwood Afternoon Cinema on Tuesday, 21st October, at 2pm for a dose of spectacular, world-class action with "Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning". Tom Cruise returns for what might be his final outing as Ethan Hunt in a film packed with the kind of breath-taking stunts and thrilling sequences that have made this series a global phenomenon. It’s big, it’s clever, and it’s guaranteed to be an entertaining afternoon at the pictures.

While it delivers all the blockbuster thrills you'd expect, the film has been praised for its "bonkers brilliance" and for being a fitting conclusion to the long-running series. It’s a perfect example of a grand cinematic adventure that’s best enjoyed on a big screen. So why not swap the usual for something a bit more explosive this month? It’s sophisticated, big-budget filmmaking at its most enjoyable.

Come along to our warm and friendly community cinema at the Burntwood Memorial Institute, where you'll find good company and a proper cuppa with biscuits from 1:30pm
. We aim to make our showings dementia and neurodivergent friendly, with moderate volume levels, the lights not fully dimmed, and a 20-minute interval in the middle for a stretch and a chat.

Tickets are just £5 – because even a world-saving mission is better when shared with friends. We look forward to seeing you there!

You can buy online at https://aard.at/bwoodfilms, on the phone at 01543 412121, or in cash on the door.

The shot is taken from below, showing them hanging from the aircraft's door whilst wearing tan trousers and boots. Text overlay reads "TOM CRUISE MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE THE FINAL RECKONING" in white and red letters.
