🎬 Burntwood Afternoon Cinema February 2026 📽️

In this month's email:
Hello! and ”hearing assistance systems”
This month's film
Next month’s film
Winter Markets
Other Events at BMCA
Once again I find myself having to open with an apology. Time and ADHD have again conspired and it’s the day before the film showing without the email having gone out. Mea culpa!
We are currently exploring purchasing some hearing assistance technology for Burntwood Memorial Institute to assist guests who use hearing aids, or headphones for autism, etc.
We’d love to hear from you if you, or you know someone who would consider coming to the film shows if we bought such equipment and have
hearing aids that have the Loop system or Auracast.
if you use headphones for hearing or due to sensory issues that have Auracast
use systems that are neither Loop or Auracast
You can write to us by replying to this email, message us through the Burntwood Memorial Institute Facebook page, or chat to Paul at a film showing.
Save the Cinema! - 17th February at 2pm
Join us for a heart-warming and uplifting afternoon with Save the Cinema, the charming British film based on an incredible true story.
Starring the brilliant Samantha Morton and Jonathan Pryce, the film tells the story of Liz Evans, a hairdresser in 1990s Carmarthen who starts a tenacious campaign to save her beloved local cinema from demolition. It’s a truly inspiring, funny, and moving tale about the power of community spirit and a love for the magic of the big screen.
Come along to our warm and friendly community cinema, where you'll find good company and a proper cup of tea with biscuits. It's more than just a film; it's a chance to share a final, memorable moment with old friends.
Tickets are £5. They can be purchased in advance online from The Lichfield Garrick box office on the phone at 01543 412121 or at https://aard.at/bwoodfilms, or with cash on the door.
Burntwood Afternoon Cinema is a project of the Burntwood Memorial Community Association (BMCA).

Other Memorial Institute Events

Just a brief message to say that the final Burntwood Winter Market of the season is taking place on Sunday, 8th March, at the Burntwood Memorial Institute.
It runs from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM and it's your last chance to pop down before it closes up for the year. You'll find the usual collection of local traders with everything from handmade crafts and jewellery to fresh pies and artisan chocolate. The breakfast sandwiches will, of course, be making an appearance.
With Mother's Day just around the corner, it's a good opportunity to support local businesses and find something a bit different for a gift.

Film showings are at Burntwood Memorial Hall, Rugeley Road, Burntwood, WS7 9BE. There is parking onsite, including disabled parking and wheelchair access via a permanent ramp.
We try to make our afternoon showings dementia and autism-friendly. Volume levels are reasonable, the room is never completely dark, and there is an interval around halfway through the film.
If you know anyone who might be interested in our Afternoon Cinema, why not forward this email to them? Then, they can sign up for themselves.
Alternatively, you can follow us on BMCA's Facebook page.
We'd like to say thank you to the volunteers of the BMCA for their assistance in running the events. We couldn't do this without them.
