The Critic - 18th February 2025 at 2pm
I hope this finds you well in this brisk February! For our screening on Tuesday 18th at 2pm, we're delighted to bring you "The Critic", a wonderfully witty new period drama that I think you'll particularly enjoy. Ian McKellen is absolutely magnificent as a fearsome 1930s theatre critic whose acid-tongued reviews have London's West End quaking in their boots. This sumptuous thriller, featuring brilliant performances from Gemma Arterton and Lesley Manville, weaves together romance, intrigue and delightfully sharp dialogue (just a heads up - there's the occasional salty word!) into a thoroughly entertaining afternoon's viewing. As always, we'll have the kettle on from 1:30pm, and there's nothing better than discussing a good film over a proper cuppa and biscuits with friends. Tickets remain at Β£5, and you're welcome to bring along anyone who might enjoy an afternoon in good company.
