Vitamins & Stationary

This week after the small (yet troublesome enough) inconveniences that had accumulated to a point of finally needing to be dealt with - I was once again the recipient of an apparently much needed B-12 shot.
I won’t bore you with the details of why I’ve been going without it for 6 months; the bureaucratic slights that took way too many phone calls, too many people to resolve. But I will share that as I joked with the nurse who stabs me monthly in my left arm, “I hope this cures all my troubles,” I meant it.
It might not have cured all my troubles (because as a human and feminist I remain VERY troubled by our times) but I’m happy to report that I have more energy than I have IN A LONG TIME. The difference is NOTICEABLE! I actually want to (and can) get out of bed with more ease. This week I’ve actually done work BEFORE 8am. Like logged onto the computer, dealt with things efficiently and made forward progress on tasks that have felt too cumbersome to tackle more than one at a time!

I put the clean dishes away the other day! Something that if I would have even tried to tackle before my b-12 shot, would have likely meant I needed to sit down and rest a few times to accomplish it.
It’s such a good feeling to have some energy revving at the top of the day. I love witnessing a sunrise! And to feel a little more rested after sleep feels like a blessing.
This is all to say, I need that B-12 shot and I will try my best not to go six months without it again.
I also have had a different burst of energy directing me back to organizing my supplies in Studio Utopia to better work for my needs. This led me down some fun YouTube rabbit holes of stationary and organizing bliss that has reignited my passion for all things stationary.

Many of you know about my sticker joys and the ways that I am reparenting, healing, and honoring Young KCF is with stickers. I am excited to make a YouTube flip through of my sticker book that I started in 1988ish and the new additions I’ve added to it in 2026! It’s my very own time capsule that I am thrilled to revisit.
Because of my re-found love of all things stickers, I have found myself with a storage solution possibility. See how I didn’t say I have a problem? No. This is an opportunity!
I USED to keep all my stickers in a very cute place (a coral Toyo steel box) but they were all jumbled and nestled on top of each other so I truly did not even really know what stickers I had!
But THEN I got an actual sticker keeper for stickers and now, my life is just full of organizational possibility! And, now I can quickly flip through to see all that I have at a glance and not have to dump a whole container out to figure out which ones to use for my planner, or my junk journal or to gift to friends.

I have had waves of office supply or stationary binges many times in my life. Mostly following the usual ebb and flow of an academic year - getting just the right sticky notes for marking pages, finding the absolute best paper to write on with my favorite pen, selecting a folder for organizing papers… truly I could spend my life doing this.
And what joys to be undertaking the collection of paper goodies in March of all times! And with no research or teaching deadline! Only my own desires and dreams to have the pretty things all within my reach and for my unique needs - to be concurrently determined!
For a few years I was maintaining two passion planners - one for my studio and one for everything else. While that was somewhat helpful to have the dedicated space to mark important things in the studio, I actually did not use the studio planners frequently and the burden of separation for me as someone seeking unity was too much!
So now, I just have the one planner.
I’m going to try a second planner again and hope I can make an honest go at it. I’m trying to find some purposeful time to focus on meal planning and prep in 2026 and with the help of a dear friend am staying committed to that goal! Will integrating a special planner help me?! Only time can tell, but I love the idea of using the planner to have weekly and monthly plans - and I’m hoping it can serve as a little memory keeper too with notes and reflections of what I definitely need to cook again!

There are so many journals, diaries, thoughts, and dreams I want to collect in paper.
And now… given this B-12 shot coursing through my veins there may be a possibility that all of this and more could be achievable. And so is the active wondering about everyone else’s stationary collections!
Are you a stationary fan?
What are you favorite places to source stationary?
Do you have a favorite notebook?
Would you care to know mine?
What’s your annual stationary budget?
How do you keep your stationary organized, accessible, and in use?
These are the questions I enjoy spending my time thinking about when I take a break from tuning in to the disasters (impact) of war, violence, and fascism. Everything is political, AND I still need my paper to be acid free and archival… for the collection!
Put stickers on my tombstone and make paper offerings in addition to the good tequila for me when it’s time.
Until then, let’s keep looking for the small joys and wins and hope that they can ripple outward with love, peace, and compassion for all. For me, today, that’s vitamins and stationary.
