How was it for you?

I have finally made it through the fog of winter. It took me until August this year, which I think according to my Captain’s Log (of my hazy memory) is a new record.

Usually Winter’s gloom does not have such a grasp on me. I feel like in years’ past (well pre-COVID anyways) I would come up for air after the icy dive of snow season with the spring elation. And then ride that wave to higher heights of lake time joys.
This year though? Wowza.
For my Minnesotans, maybe it’s been the rainy summer? For my non-Minnesotans maybe it’s been the grief? For whatever reason I feel called to see if you too have felt the clouds lifting or if it’s just been my recent efforts?
When I start having panic attacks I have to really reevaluate my life, and 2025 has brought me many opportunities for reevaluation.
So, I’ve started therapy (again).
I’ve been trying to treat my body as well as my car. Which means eating more meals regularly even as chronic body pain and fatigue makes that difficult.
I see my acupuncture TCM doc weekly.
And I’ve been finding ways back to my yoga mat.
When I returned back from my epic week away I did try my hardest to take it easier than usual this week.
I mostly succeeded.
I’m continuously searching for new strategies to somatically soothe my nervous system. Please send me positive affirmations and notes on what your go-tos are. I’m going to keep working at my tried and true and new strategies.
At this point in my life I’m learning that we’re always on the journey. And constantly, despite all my accomplishments I always somehow manage to find a way back to a life barreling away at a pace I cannot handle.
And it’s all my own doing!
Sometimes I think when I write to you I think, oh this will help me stay accountable. But I also have this drive in me to always be doing so that I have something to report!
Ah the joys of the chaos of life.
So here’s the report. Since last week I debuted a new body of work to a large and wonderful crowd of supporters at Calendula Gallery.

You can visit the works every weekend when the gallery is open Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm.
I sold three of the works on Opening Night, but don’t fear, there are 13 paintings still looking for their forever homes. With prices from $300-$999 and works mostly 12”x12” or under this is the best opportunity to purchase a work from the Art of KCF.
Works will be on view through September 20th - so make a plan to head to see them one of these weekends!
ALSO! Drumroll please…
I wanted to share that the Art of KCF is officially undergoing a brand (re)design. Well, really a brand logic amplifier with new assets!!
while I hard launched some of the elements on Instagram, I am working to begin rolling out my new brand badges and logo into my digital homes!

My designer and friend of Go-Go-Tani took my ideas and dreams and pulled it all together into this fresh image and I am so so in love with the Falcón soaring high and keeping an eye on studio utopia. Keep a look out for how this will be popping up in the land of my digital presence!
First up (OF COURSE) is getting stickers made… and sharing them as incentives for more people to join the Art of KCF Ko-Ficitxs Crew! So if you want one of these coming your way in a sticker form, you know what to do!
I mean, come on people. Look at this beauty! Can’t you just see this on the top of some stationary?

Ok, ok, off to the next task. I’m done bragging for now.
But can you blame me? It’s Leo Season after all, and I’m fishing for compliments.
Till next time,
