Art of KCF 2025 Wrapped

The wrapped list as a concept may be getting a little old, but I’m still going to ride this train while it’s on the tracks.

When I received in my inbox that Scooters had my “Season recap” ready for me in the app I actually laughed out loud.

a screenshot of scooters coffee recap that reads "chronically caffeinated: Kandace's 2025 season recap: you joined the cast in 2025 - and you made the whole season brighter. Let's look back at your 2025 recap!"
Am I the Bachelor or the one trying to get the rose?

There’s two things I appreciate about Scooters (the coffee chain for those not in the know) one their trademark saying when you order “you can scoot on around” just tickles me to my core. Who at corporate headquarters do you think was like, “I know! We’ll tell people to scoot around, and people will love it!”

I love imagining this corporate high rise somewhere in Nebraska. That’s from where Scooters hails!

Anyways, the second thing I appreciate is that their marketing team seems to be kind of unhinged. The app is totally working on me. And honestly, if I lived closer to one of their locations, I would probably need to have a budget item for Scooters.

The season recap I launched in the app, was themed like an episode of a reality television dating show.

Season premier? Love language? Sparks flying?! Unhinged marketing team, or just Gen Zers?

I know last week I was talking about data and how important it is for the thinking through of failures and whatnot, but I’m for sure know I’m not into this kind of data mining. Of course I’m an afternoon delight coffee-goer, I’m in my mid-forties and get up before six am most days. How else does one function without an afternoon caffeine pick me up?

Scooters knows way too much about me, but I am also not going to be likely to quit. This data collection from an app that can easily spit out what time and where you order is the sort of reasoning that execs take to their team for making the case that their company “needs” an app.

Me and Hermana are constantly bemoaning “not everything needs to be appified!”

Fun fact I learned in 2025 from Hermana - if you want to preorder a dozen or more of donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO DO THIS BESIDES THE APP. In this case, it’s almost like businesses don’t want your money. Forget old fashioned calling ahead. You must use the app! Want to stop by the shop on your way home from work to put your order in? You can try, but they won’t do it - because it has to come through the app!

Aghghhhhghahgh can you even imagine telling your younger self excited by three way calling on a corded landline that this is the world we would be looking toward?

THE FUTURE!

Anyways, part of my Art of KCF Wrapped for your enjoyment includes a round up of the a year via random data points in the life of a solopreneur art business and artist just trying to develop systems to bring in wealth, abundance and stability.

These are the sorts of achievements I’d be happy to share with a cute graphic on social I only I could get my sh*t together enough for that sort of thing.

Presented for your reading pleasure, with no weird unhinged romance reality show theme 🤪
