ArtAtomic Newsletter September 2025
ArtAtomic: Art+Science+Code by Kristin Henry
Here we are, in the middle of September…and I’m in the middle of getting ready for the Maker Faire Bay Area. It’s this weekend. If you came to my booth last year, I think I might be in the same spot. I’ve been creating a lot of new pieces in the past year, so most of what I bring will be new. https://bayarea.makerfaire.com/
I’ve updated my online shop, so that only prints are available until after the Maker Faire. https://www.artatomic.io/
This past weekend, I gave my first remote conference talk. I wish I could have been there in person, but it’s better to be remote than not there at all. My talk was about how a great deal of my artwork is inspired by Biochemistry. The paper version is free to read online: https://2025.algorithmicpattern.org/proceedings/VVLPVG/paper.html
We’re more than half-way through September, and I’ve been following a list of Science+Art prompts for my daily #inkyDays drawings. I started out by sharing an earlier abstract drawing of a cell membrane with proteins. I post these mostly on Mastodon. And I’ve been using the #SciArtSeptember and #SciArt tags to help folks find my art.
There are several groups using the tags, on various platforms, so it’s fun to find the unexpected. No matter what month it is, there is usually some great art out there with the #SciArt tag.
