You know I typically lace together several links that tell a larger story in their collective prism held against some aspect of the world, but the ideas percolating for me earlier in January were washed away in the final few days by another writer. I must share with you in full.
This anecdote reflects the animating forces of this newsletter and much of my work beyond: relentless research to find obscure primary sources, unabashed curiosity, and a willingness to ask for help in each small quest to share stories that time has long hidden.
