Intuitive Empowerment Session with April Jay Tasi
October overall has been a damn ride. If you follow astrology at all you know the crunchy wildness that Venus Rx has provided us. I personally have felt the most irritability, frustration and contrast this month than I have felt all year.
Venus is showing us what we don’t want so we can attune to what we do desire. In all honestly, that agitation the cosmos is dragging us all through has made it difficult yet even more vital for me to slow down and find moments of awe/ tend to my spirit. I wouldn’t say it was my best month for self care and presence, but I practiced a little so I’m going to call it a win, baby!

If you’re feeling the immense challenge of this season, I send you a breath of hope and ease. May all the difficulty of this month give you inspiration and clarity for the season ahead. I’m holding that vision for all of us!
🌹Moments of Awe:
-Witnessing the gorgeous roses in the international rose test garden continue to hold their vibrant colors through the autumn months

-Tearing up as passionate students talk about their life changing experiences getting to travel abroad for the first time, at the annual Wonderfolk Gala. This org. is doing beautiful things locally (PDX) if you’re called to support!
-The taste of juicy pears freshly picked in the Columbia River Gorge
-Receiving forehead kisses before my son gets out of bed each morning. Also hearing Ari say “I love myself” for the first time
-Witnessing my incredible husband finish a 50 mile race for his 35th birthday!
-Hearing the powerful reflections of the Becoming Mothers participants after guiding them through an Ancestral healing group session. The Ancestors showed up for us big time and provided support in releasing deep, heavy wounds from our womb spaces. I recommend checking out this group if you crave in person support on your mothering/ conception journey.

-The outpouring of support for Jane Doe and other individuals who have come forward in the Cornell 7 case. I know this statement is nuanced and there’s plenty of criticism/victim blaming/negativity surrounding the case but I have also seen a lot of healing and opportunity for change begin to rise from this.
🎵 Music I’m loving:
-Recently have been crying in the car to Madilyn Bailey’s cover of Landslide. I listened to this one a TON back in 2017 when experiencing a dark night of the soul and feel similar themes coming around for me to lean into at this time. Nothing wrong with an ole car cry these days.
-Ari demands we listen to Who Let The Dogs Out as soon as we get in the car.. I can’t say I recommend the song but it does actually give a bit of energy pre-coffee in the mornings.
-I’m pretty much obsessed with any Allan Rayman song these days. I don’t know what this says about the current state of my mental well being… :)… but it’s working for me and is my favorite type of music to dance to in my sensual dance classes.
📖 What I’m reading/listening to/ watching:
-I recently started attending a writing group and felt called to return to Octavia Butler’s Manifesto. Here’s a little exercise to write your own manifesto and includes her’s.
-Just finished Heart of The Matter, Emily Giffin, a random novel I found at goodwill. It gives a nuanced perspective on having an affair, what matters most when it comes to relationships and how modern life impacts fidelity.
-I’m watching Love is Blind Boston. It is the worst season I’ve ever seen of LIB. Don’t ask me why I’m still watching. Humor me and tell me you’re still in it too.
🍋 What I’m eating:
-I love this squash soup with crusty bread.
-Apple pancakes.
-The Banana Bread Chai from Portal Tea if you’re in Portland. So comforting and caffeinated enough to help you through your to do list. :)
🔮 Intuitive empowerment thangs:
-I just finished a 30 day womb practice with my mentor Danielle. At least once daily we checked in with our womb to simply connect or ask for guidance. Although I connect with my guides regularly I have never done a consistent practice like this especially with the womb. The messages that came through were super clear, loving and soothing, exactly what I needed for a tumultuous season of self growth. I highly recommend checking out Danielle’s work or creating your own womb practice if you’re a womb holder.

-Despite focusing on it all month, Ancestral connection has felt a bit daunting and overwhelming to me lately so instead of forcing a big ritual with my dead Ancestors, I chose to take the pressure off and instead just say hi to them at the altar whenever I walk by it. It feels sweet and I feel connected to them without needing to do a whole ceremony. Sometimes the simplest ways of connection are what is best for the season. How are you connecting to your Ancestors or guides in easeful ways lately?
💌 What’s coming from me/events:
-Check out the Ancestral Healing series on my podcast That’s What Spirit Said. I wrapped up the season with a channeled reading. It was so fun interviewing everyone and I look froward to hearing how it all landed for you!
-1:1 Sessions are available with me in November and January. Once these spots fill they won’t be open again until Spring 2027. Use these sessions to receive channeled guidance and inspiration wherever you are on your healing journey.
-2 new essays are coming each month in the paid version of In Awe! I’m excited to share more intimately what I have been navigating in motherhood, business, creativity and my spiritual healing journey.
-The November intuitive group reading for paid subscribers is 11/12/26 at 530 pm PT. Upgrade to paid and you’ll be given the zoom link and notified of future workshops/readings.
