Wait til you meet the Government of Canada
Last week Susan flew from France back to Canada. She’s triple-vaccinated of course, had the relevant negative PCR test on departure, and had completed all of the required forms for Air Canada, Lufthansa, and of course ArriveCan. She had crossed the Ts and dotted the Is.
Imagine the panic and surprise when the Government of Canada emailed her this:
Now, I’ve read a lot of government documents over the years, and have even written a couple, but I can see no way to interpret this as anything but QUARANTINE NOW!
Especially when it’s followed by:
A check with the good folks at the Canadians in France group on Facebook tells us that this insane email is sent to EVERYONE entering Canada, whether or not it applies even remotely to them. Consequently even well-informed, law-abiding, COVID careful people are getting the fright of their lives for no reason.
And people ask why we decided to leave this country….
