Something I came up with a few years ago
A few years ago I was thinking about what it would take for Canada to have a vibrant new frontier, avoid environmental disaster, and help relocate environmental refugees from around the world. Side-effects of the proposed path would be many: large increases in technological and technical development in environment-friendly fields, national security, transportation, employment, food security, and others.
After a fair amount of digging in some odd Internet archives, I wrote an 11 part outline of my idea. Actually, it turned out not to be my idea at all. Precursor work had taken place over several decades. Technology has moved on though, so perhaps this concept would be more feasible now.
The chapters are:
Introduction
Aspects
Location
Structure
Energy
Food
Transportation
First Nations and Inuit
Employment
Environment
Science and Technology
I plan to publish them here over the next few weeks. If you prefer not to be on the update mailing list, please let me know. If you find the ideas interesting, please comment. If you know others who may be interested, please share!
