Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Annette’s News Roundup.
Last night was, to put it mildly, a painful night. Depending on when you read this, the Presidential results are not yet clear. We still have votes to count.
What is clear is that millions of Americans either voted for Trump for a second or third time, and others who didn’t voted for him before made the leap into madness.
The Democrats have lost the Senate. The Democrats may have taken back the House.
I hope you are coping, and I hope you have found at least one moment of joy in yesterday’s elections.
My moment came when we learned Angela Alsobrooks was the Senator Elect from the state of Maryland and Lisa Blunt Rochester was the Senator Elect from the state of Delaware. For the next 6 years, for the first time, there will be at least 2 African American women in the Senate.
The new Senator from Delaware (left). The new Senator from Maryland.
I will be back in touch tomorrow.
