Interesting dynamics in Maine GOV: https://t.co/5CAgysg0Wq

Maine Morningstar - Hannah Pingree officially launched her campaign for governor after months of speculation about the candidacy of the former Mills administration official and speaker of the Maine House of Representatives.
Pingree, the daughter of U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, will join at least three other Democratic candidates facing off in the gubernatorial primary next June, including Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, former Senate President Troy Jackson and Angus King III, the son of independent U.S. Sen. Angus King.

The 19th - On Saturday, progressive Democrat Gina Ortiz Jones won a runoff election to become the first out LGBTQ+ mayor of San Antonio, the seventh-largest city in the country.
She defeated Rolando Pablos, a former Texas Secretary of State, with close ties to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. From July 2021 to March 2023, Ortiz Jones, a Filipino American Air Force veteran, served as Under Secretary of the Air Force for President Biden.

Rebecca Michelle "Mikie" Sherrill is an American politician, former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, attorney, and former federal prosecutor serving as the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 11th congressional district since 2019. (Wikipedia)

Little boys sometimes play soldier.
Donald J. Trump, commander-in-chief - that likely has a pleasing sound to the crazed man in the White House. Since 2017, he has been longing for a military parade where the soldiers he commands and the heavy machinery he commands roll before him for the world to see. So what he has never been a soldier.

A boy can dream, can’t he?
As he said when brought to the graves of the fallen soldiers at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris, those who actually served are “losers” and “suckers.”
Watching a parade in his honor is much better.

Especially to a boy-man who can’t differentiate between reality and fantasy. He has been wanting his parade for a long time, since 2017 when he saw France’s Bastille Day parade.

The time for his parade was almost here when the damn immigrants in Los Angeles began an alternate type of parade.
Never mind, he, commander-in chief, would just call out his troops earlier than the parade.

Magically, just like that, he delivered troops to Los Angeles. Looking at the armed marines on the street, he can feel his strength grow.
Now he waits for June 14, when he will display his full strength. This, after all, is the best part of being the President.
He doesn’t think about the Constitution, or Law, or Democracy, or the consequences of his actions on others. He just thinks about his parade - the most powerful army in the world will soon be saluting him… saluting him.
Yes, as many have noted, Trump sounds like a would-be dictator.

But he also sounds like a frightened man, unable to separate reality from fantasy, determined to have his beautiful parade of military might.
See you on Saturday.
