September 11 is a day we will never forget. Today, we mourn the lives lost, honor the nation’s heroic first responders, and reflect on the unwavering spirit of the American people.
I hope we all take a moment today to think of those who died on 9/11/01, and of the loved ones who still carry their cherished memories to this day.

As long as we breathe, we will never forget.
After posing for pictures and being buttonholed for several minutes by Senator Chuck Schumer of New York at the 9/11 memorial, Vice President Kamala Harris extended her hand to greet Donald Trump, reprising a similar moment a the start of the debate last night, when she introduced herself to the former president. Who won the debate.
If Trump believes he won the debate against Kamala Harris,

Why is he refusing a second debate?
Trump won the one debate category we expected.
ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis interrupted or corrected Trump 11 times.
The latest tally shows 33 lies by Trump to one by Kamala.
According to CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale, “No major presidential candidate before Donald Trump has ever lied with this kind of frequency.”

On Afghanistan, Ukraine.
Next the topic was Afghanistan. Kamala Harris showed her foreign policy strength again, giving a detailed answer on how Trump humiliated the country by negotiating with Taliban terrorists and even tried to invite them to Camp David.

On Ukraine, Harris said “if Trump was president, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv."
Trump refused to say whether or not he wanted Ukraine to win.

Inflation is coming down. Expect a rate cut.
“I had no inflation, virtually no inflation, they had the highest inflation, perhaps in the history of our country because I’ve never seen a worse period of time,” Trump said. “People can’t go out and buy cereal bacon or eggs or anything else.” (Inflation was much higher in the early 1980s.)
Trump has repeatedly exaggerated inflation levels under Biden, claiming it’s the worst it’s ever been, and while inflation did peak at a four-decade high of 9.1% in June 2022, it rose to more than 14% in the 1980s, 11.1% in 1974, 10.9% in 1942 and 17.8% in 1917.
Inflation has since fallen to 2.9% year-over-year as of July, the lowest level since March 2021, and rose 0.2% from June—a slide President Joe Biden has often touted, though annual inflation still remains above the 2% target set by the Federal Reserve.
Some economists have noted presidents themselves can’t really be solely blamed for inflation, since it’s often a worldwide phenomenon caused by a variety of factors, including the independent Federal Reserve’s influence over interest rates, though at the same time, presidential fiscal policies (such as pandemic stimulus packages under both Trump and Biden) can be among the factors that contribute to inflation.
Trump has cited the tie-breaking Senate vote Harris cast to advance the American Rescue Plan Act in blaming her for inflation—many experts agree the post-pandemic economic stimulus packages signed by Trump and Biden contributed to inflation by leading to a spike in demand while supply chains were still hampered by the pandemic, but the supply chain shortages, coupled with the Russia-Ukraine war, were more significant factors. New York Times yesterday. Sept. 11, 2024, 8:30 a.m. ET3 hours ago Ben CasselmanReporting from New York
The report is out! Consumer prices rose 0.2 percent in August and were up 2.5 percent from a year earlier. “Core” prices, excluding food and energy, were up 0.3 percent from July and 3.2 percent from a year ago.
Ben Casselman Sept. 11, 2024, 8:33 a.m. ET3 hours ago Ben CasselmanReporting from New York
The 2.5 percent year-over-year inflation reading is the lowest since March 2021. --- Prices at the pump have been falling, a win for efforts to fight inflation.
The cost of gasoline and diesel has been falling in the United States, welcome news for efforts to reduce inflation. A gallon of regular gasoline in August cost an average of $3.39, down nearly 12 percent from a year earlier, according to the Energy Information Administration. Diesel prices fell even further — around 15 percent year-over-year — to $3.70 a gallon last month. Prices have continued sliding in September, and the average price of regular gasoline on Tuesday was $3.26 a gallon, according to the AAA motor club.
One more thing.
The inflation rate fell to 2.5%, back down to pre-pandemic levels.@POTUS and @VP have worked tirelessly to tame inflation, and will keep cutting costs by lowering healthcare prices, banning junk fees, and cracking down on corporate price gouging.https://t.co/a6Fqs5LQJQ

Our Presidential Candidate did great.
Now there are down ballot candidates to support so Kamala and Tim can have the Blue House and Blue Senate they need to succeed.
Michigan.
This swing state is purple but with a blue governor (Gretchen Whitmer) and 2 blue State Houses.
There are student voters - 93 colleges and universities including 8 research universities, 17 baccalaureate colleges, and 19 master's universities.
There are powerful ethnic blocks, including an Arab American community. 94 percent of American Muslims who voted in the Democratic Presidential primary voted “uncommitted.”
On November 5th, there will be 3 third party candidates running for President - Cornel West, Robert Kennedy, Jr. and Jill Stein.
Unions really count, especially in Detroit.
And again, there is a blue governor (two term Governor Gretchen Whitmer) and 2 blue State Houses.
As Anne Hess of the fund-raising juggernaut Buddy Group wrote, “At the end of the day, the best path to winning the Presidency and saving our democracy is for Harris and Walz to win the three Blue Wall States: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.
Sending Elissa Slotkin to the Senate and Hilary Scholten, Curtis Hertel, Kristen McDonald Rivet, and Carl Marlinga to the House of Representatives will help ensure majorities in both Houses of Congress and a successful Harris/Walz administration.
There are also really important State Supreme Court races at issue in Michigan. And supporting these Congressional candidates will get Democratic voters to the polls where they can vote up and down the ballot.”
Elissa Slotkin
(3 term elected Congresswoman running for Senator to replace retiring Senator, Democrat Debbie Stabenow.
Hillary Scholten
( MI-03), a returning member of Congress who is the first Democrat to win in her district in 50 years.
Curtis Hertel
(MI-07), a key member of Whitmer’s winning team during her 2 elections, he is running to replace Slotkin in the Congress from this district.
Kristen McDonald Rivet
(MI-08), seeking to replace Democratic Congressman Dan Kildee.
Carl Marlinga
(MI-10)… a popular Michigan political figure who exceeded Trump’s 20,000+ winning total in 2020. He is seen as nonpartisan since he was a prosecutor and a judge.
These races can be won. It’s your turn to help. Donate if you can. Here is the link. You can vote for all 5 candidates with one donation.👇

Your Daily Reminder.
Trump is a convicted felon.
On May 30th, he was found guilty on 34 felony counts by the unanimous vote of 12 ordinary citizens.
The Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump was scheduled to be sentenced on July 11th and September 18th. He will now be sentenced on November 26.
Not only are Kamala Harris and Tim Walz law-abiding gun owners, as she says, but Donald Trump has had his guns removed from his possession because he is a convicted felon.
