In many ways, Donald Trump is an unserious man—but the consequences of putting him back in the White House are extremely serious.
And we’re not going back.

One more thing.
North Carolina is in play and Marc Elias is ready for GOP tricks.
North Carolina Republicans are nervous because it is a toss-up state. The RNC just filed two new lawsuits and I expect more are coming.

Sept. 6, 2024: North Carolina county boards of elections begin mailing absentee ballots to eligible voters who submitted an absentee ballot request form.
In case you wondered, Georgia is also in play.
September 17-21 Georgia voting officials begin mailing absentee ballots to eligible voters who submitted an absentee ballot request form.
Rep. Nikema Williams (D-Ga.), chair of the state Democratic Party, said to Politico, “They [Harris-Walz] are campaigning all across this country, and they see a path through Georgia. We have multiple paths to 270 so that we can win the White House once again, and coming to Georgia is an affirmation that we are still a battleground state, we are still in this, and they know just like we know — that we’ve been counted out before.”
Kamala and Tim spent yesterday touring in Georgia and will hold a rally in Savannah tonight.
Harris, Biden and allies hit battlegrounds for Labor Day blitz.
The Harris campaign is planning a Labor Day blitz of events on Monday in nearly every battleground state, including Vice President Kamala Harris’ first joint campaign appearance with President Joe Biden since the switch at the top of the ticket.
Harris will travel to Detroit on Monday, before joining Biden in Pittsburgh for a campaign event, a nod to the president’s union bonafides in states like Pennsylvania. Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and first lady Gwen Walz will travel to Milwaukee as the city celebrates its annual Laborfest, while second gentlemen Doug Emhoff will attend a Labor Day event in Newport News, Virginia.
The campaign is also deploying surrogates including Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Mitch Landrieu, Tom Perez and others to key battleground states like North Carolina, Nevada and Georgia. (Politico).
Think about it. Who do you know in North Carolina? Who do you know in Georgia?
Each of us needs to do something.
More fallout and outcry over Trump’s disrespect for fallen heroes at the National Cemetery.

Trump also tried to exploit the funeral of Ruby Garcia. Here he claimed he had spoken to her family and shared details. Except the family said he was lying about the whole thing. He is reading from a NY Post obituary, while claiming this is what her family told him. pic.twitter.com/wfIxrlkJqd

His boss also showed his good taste yesterday.
Former President Donald J. Trump used his social-media website on Wednesday to amplify a crude remark about Vice President Kamala Harris that suggested Ms. Harris traded sexual favors to help her political career.
The post, by another user on Truth Social, was an image of Ms. Harris and Hillary Clinton, Mr. Trump’s opponent in 2016. The text read: “Funny how blowjobs impacted both their careers differently…”
Classy guys.
The J6 Case and the Classified Documents Case against Trump are both back.
Trump indicted again in election subversion case brought by Jack Smith.
A federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. has reindicted Donald Trump on four felony charges related to his effort to subvert the 2020 presidential election.
The 36-page indictment, secured Tuesday by special counsel Jack Smith, is an attempt by prosecutors to streamline the case against Trump to address the Supreme Court’s ruling last month that concluded presidents enjoy sweeping immunity from prosecution for their official conduct.
The new indictment removes some specific allegations against Trump but contains the same four criminal charges, including conspiracy to defraud the United States. It’s a signal that Smith believes the high court’s immunity decision doesn’t pose a major impediment to convicting the former president.
The superseding indictment, which was presented to a new grand jury that had not previously heard evidence in this case, reflects the Government’s efforts to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s holdings and remand instructions,” Smith’s team wrote in an accompanying court filing.
The development is unlikely to alter the reality that a trial in the case before the November election looks impossible. In fact, the new indictment could drag the case out further — defense attorneys often seek delays after prosecutors revise criminal allegations.
Both sides face a Friday deadline to propose next steps to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, the Biden appointee who is overseeing the proceedings in the trial court. Chutkan has scheduled a Sept. 5 hearing to set a course for the case.
In addition to the election subversion case, Smith has also charged Trump in Florida with hoarding classified documents and obstructing justice. Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, dismissed that case last month — a decision that Smith is appealing.
Trump also faces criminal charges in Georgia for interfering with the 2020 election results in that state. And in May, he was convicted in New York of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment to a porn star [to protect his 2020 Presidential candidacy].
(Politico).

Your Daily Reminder
Trump is a convicted felon.
On May 30th, he was found guilty on 34 felony counts by the unanimous vote of 12 ordinary citizens.
The Convicted Felon Donald J. Trump was scheduled to be sentenced on July 11. He will now be sentenced sometime around September 18th.
Once again the Convicted Felon breaks the law. He illegally goes to Arlington Cemetery to take a campaign photo op over the grave of a fallen soldier whose death he was responsible for. Just another day at the office for the most disgusting human being to ever seek the presidency
