Mini-Vacation
I had a week off and it was awesome. Chilled hard. Lilly went out of town for a wedding and I partied with the kids (went to Target a lot). During that time I caught up on my editing/delivery queue and got a nice, big print ready for a cool group photo show coming up in December. More on that later.
My mini-break from shooting ended on Sunday with my first ever Bat Mitzvah. It was WILD. 13 year olds bring so much more energy than drunken wedding guests. It felt closer to punk and hardcore shows I went to as a youth. Another thing that made it feel like a punk show was that the cops showed up TWICE after receiving noise complaints. The event was in a tent in a driveway in the middle of Cambridge, Mass. Lots of angry neighbors. It was great. Not gonna share pictures on account of kids deserving privacy.
Next month I'll have a photo in the annual Photo A GoGo show at Maine Studio Works in Portland, Maine. Photo A GoGo is an annual photo show/auction put on by The Bakery Photo Collective. This is the 22nd year they've done it. This year's show will be on Friday December 9th from 6-8:30pm. The address for Maine Studio Works is 170 Anderson Avenue in Portland, Maine. If you are in the area I would love to see you there.
The print I'm showing is from the shoot I did this summer at a waterfall at The Jagolinzer Preserve in Limington. I know I wrote about this already but this was the shoot where I slipped on a wet rock mere minutes after showing up and possibly broke my tailbone. I think that this information really INFORMS the piece. Lol, jkjkjk.
The print looks beautiful, it was made at Photosmith in Dover, NH. Those guys do printing, processing, and scanning SO FAST and do such good work. The print was expertly framed by the wonderful Lower Village Frameworks in Kennebunkport.
This afternoon I am heading up to Newry, Maine for a small wedding. I'm excited to hopefully see a bunch of snow. This weekend I have a baby shoot and an engagement shoot. Then, only 5 more shoots for the whole rest of the year. I'm gonna take a lot of naps.
Sad, post-Halloween photos have nothing to do with anything I wrote. Just had to put them somewhere.
