Lost Without My Phone

Last week was supposed to be pretty easy. I had just a wedding and an engagement shoot (and two postponed shoots due to weather). It would have been smooth sailing but on Friday night my phone turned itself off and wouldn't turn on again. This happened right at about the time that every Verizon retail location closes for the night and I had a wedding the next day with coverage starting early in the morning. I was totally panicked because I realized how reliant I am on my phone for my business but also just for functioning as a human. I simply don't know how to get ANYWHERE without my phone telling me, especially not to Central Massachusetts where the wedding was happening. I think I would have been okay if I didn't have to make it through a full wedding day without it. I would have considered it a one-day zen retreat or something. Instead I loaded up my Ipad with as much work stuff as I could and thankfully my wife let me borrow her phone for the GPS and for calls in case of emergency. Everything turned out fine.

Got a new phone and lost most of the stuff that was on the old one. Contacts, notes, apps etc. Didn't lose any photos because I back those up manually because, you know, priorities.

Everything settled down and I did a cool engagement session on Tuesday despite the poopy air from the Canadian fires. It was at Fort McClary in Kittery, another one of the many cool, old, coastal forts in this area.
