Last Wedding of the Year

The end is finally here! Shot my last wedding of the year on Saturday. It was wedding #37 for me. It was a doozy. I couldn't have asked for a funnier couple to celebrate with. You know I love goofy clients. These guys found out that I love the Netflix sketch comedy show I Think You Should Leave and anytime a new person showed up they would introduce me and say "This guy likes I Think You Should Leave too!" The groomsmen had a secret plan to continually "ICE" the groom, which is a trend I was not familiar with. Basically if you can secretly "serve" someone (like serving them a court summons) a Smirnoff Ice, they have to chug it right then and there. The bride iced him during their first look, the groomsmen iced him before every major event for the day and each time he took it without complaint. He would drop to one knee and knock it back.

This wedding had the biggest guest count of any wedding I shot this year, probably around 230, and though not in a barn it was in a wood-lined, rustic venue. It was The Old Saco Inn, in Fryeburg, Maine. I've shot there before and lighting is actually pretty easy. There is a second level wrapping around the top of the entire venue so stashing lights up there works very nicely.

I had a blast and since it was the last wedding I definitely didn't try to hold back or conserve my energy so I was sore as hell the next morning. Here are the rest of the highlights.

Weddings might be done for the year but I still have a bunch of smaller gigs. I had two engagement shoots the day after the wedding. One at The Wiggly Bridge and one at the ol' faithful 1,2 punch of Portland Head Light and Kettle Cove.

I have some fun jobs coming up to finish off the year. An auto-shop branding session, more engagements and proposals, and a bar mitzvah in December. Oh yeah, and maybe I'll just make some work for fun.
