Backyard Dithering and Mini-Film Dump
I shot a wedding on Saturday and now I have a week and a half off without any shoots. Is this a vacation? Give me just a little bit of downtime and my brain always goes to the same old silly places. Two classic directions I always go in are aimless back yard experiments and convincing myself that I should get back into film photography full-force. Should I spend $2000 on a complete medium format system? No, I didn't think so.
The thing with backyard photo experiments is I get bored with it quickly. Lately I have more fun photographing the process than the actual pictures.
It's been downright warm despite it being November. The birds are psyched. I'm psyched.
Halloween happened and we didn't even wear jackets. It's snowed before on Halloween.
Voting day happened but I'm writing this before the votes are counted so either "Yay!" or "Boo!"
Now here's a rural, front yard phone booth somewhere in New Hampshire as a palette cleanser.
Then I got some film developed.
Wasn't that nice? I'm definitely not going to invest a ton of money or time into film during my slow season but I still enjoy this stuff from time to time.
Like I said, no shoots coming up this week. Hopefully I can go out on some low-stakes adventures. Let my brain rest a little.
Oh yeah, and I hope you voted.
(Boo!)
