485 Miles

Whew, lots of driving this weekend. South Berwick (not far) on Friday for an engagement session, Rangeley (really far) on Saturday for a wedding, and Phippsburg (medium far) on Sunday for a wedding. The shoots this weekend included historic houses, lots of babies, some dogs, torrential downpour, and sheriffs present at both weddings, one for good reasons and one for not so good reasons. Let your imagination wander because I won't elaborate, lol.

Friday I shot a very cool, very chill couple at The Hamilton House in South Berwick. It's on a beautiful property overlooking Salmon Falls River. It had been raining all day and cleared up right before the shoot so the skies were really epic. I saw a complete double rainbow on the drive there. I didn't photograph it of course. I typically don't do that. You know what a rainbow looks like. It looked like that but probably better.

Then on Saturday I got up early and drove up to Rangeley, Maine for a wedding. It was a fun one. Felt very "Maine." There were babies everywhere.

(I wish the baby was in focus, or the other baby, or the bride, but as I tell my kids everyday - you get what you get and you don't get upset.)

It rained HARD most of the day. I think the fact that most of the guests, wedding parties, AND the bride and groom were exhausted parents meant that everyone tired out early and things ended about two hours ahead of schedule. I was thankful because I had a three hour drive home and had to be in Phippsburg the next day.

I got a couple of hours of sleep and then headed out to Phippsburg/Popham Beach State Park for a very small, intimate wedding. The couple requested that I not share any of their photos so I'll just include a photo of their handsome dog instead.

I have a bunch of shoots scheduled in the next two weeks but thankfully they are all close by. No big trips until mid-September. This weekend I have a retirement party shoot (?), a wedding, an engagement session, and a portrait session. Should be a jam-packed newsletter next week.
