Accuracy Starts With You
August 2025 – Internal Newsletter for Scopers
👋 From the Desk of Scoping Ops
Scoping isn’t just step one — it’s foundation-level risk management. Every module, every jurisdiction, every verification begins with your work.
We’re seeing record volume and faster client turnaround expectations — and your precision ensures the downstream work doesn’t collapse under the weight of bad data.
Here’s what’s new, what’s trending, and what we’re adjusting based on your feedback.
🧠 Reminders from Leadership
✅ The Scoping Checklist Isn’t Optional
Top missed items flagged by reviewers:
Jurisdictions not set for real estate add-ons
College jurisdictions missing for recent grads
No notes explaining conflicting DOB or address data
Biographical module not marked complete
→ Reminder: Scoping notes should walk the next person through what you saw, what you ruled out, and why.
🗂️ LinkedIn ≠ Confirmation
Just because the subject has a LinkedIn doesn’t mean the claims are confirmed.
→ Use TLO, CLEAR, SoS docs, and outside records to triangulate employment and education.
🏠 Address Quality Audit
We’re seeing a spike in scoping entries with:
One-day addresses
PO Boxes incorrectly treated as jurisdictions
Former mailing addresses reported as active
Use address dates. If there’s no timeline for residency, it shouldn’t be scoped.
→ Check Section 9.6 and 4.5.1 in Policies and Procedures.txt for address rules.
⚙️ Operational Updates
🔄 CLEAR vs. TLO — Which One Wins?
Use both. But:
If CLEAR provides date ranges and property records, default to CLEAR.
If TLO has more aliases or social ties, use that for identity confirmation.
→ Always note which tool confirmed which data points in Bio Module Chat.
🆕 AutoFlag: Scoping QA Triggers Live
We’ve enabled backend QA tagging for:
Missing jurisdictional logic
Incomplete address history
Scopes marked complete with no SoS pull
Expect feedback tagged [AutoFlag] in subject chat if any of these apply.
🔍 Scoper Tip of the Month
“When in doubt, scope wide. But justify it.”
— Senior Scoper, Core Team
Too many false positives? Narrow it. Too little context? Broaden it — but only if you leave a trail.
📚 Ongoing Training
New Scoping Playbook.txt release — updated July 2025
Loom video library now includes:
Jurisdiction setting logic
SoS document retrieval workflow
CLEAR/TLO comparison breakdowns
→ Access these via the Alias Scoper Toolkit or ask your Team Lead.
